Re: Things I find Offensive on this forum.
Now you can understand why we label everyone that comes onto our board as Unsaved Trash at the beginning. It's basically a warning system for us regular members.
Looking back, I can see that you accepted where Pastor Levi pointed out that you have not been properly introduced to the Bible. Don't worry about it, just pick up a KJV1611 Bible and start reading. I was in the same boat as you at one time in my life. I would question why the "ugly" parts of the Bible were not being taught, and even caught my own Pastor taking scripture out of context. I would question them and question them about things until they got so frustrated that they told me that reading the Bible in its entirety was a sin!
They also pulled 1st Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. Not that this was a church that believed in Women staying home. In reality, I was not trying to usurp, I was trying to understand, and since I didn't have a husband at the time to ask, I thought going to a pastor was my next best option.
That is one of the reasons that I love being a member of this church. I can ask any of the Pastors a question about the Bible, and they have a ready, scriptual answer for me. None of this "Oh the Old Testament doesn't count anymore" or "Well yes that's what it says, but what it REALLY means is...".
Good luck on your journey

It's a lot happier and friendlier there, and I'm still going to heaven
