There are also christian writings out there that describe how certain sex acts can be used to preserve virginity, such acts have been called a gift from god and they have been discussed in this very forum. As that discussion took place in the "Promise Enforcers - Men Only!" section I shall not link to it or repeat the details, but none of the "true christian" men that discussed the issue took the view that it did not preserve virginity.

As outlined in John 3, I was born again. Therefore, I am virgin once more and would qualify to be among this number as I am currently celibate (unmarried).

More importantly, though... this is not a Jehovah's Witness website and I'm pretty sure no one here believes that the 144,000 represent the sum total of those that will enter heaven. These select few are a very special group that God redeems from the Earth at that appointed time.

Why are you so concerned with how Christians acted in their unsaved days, Jo Freddie? Its not like any of us are going to backslide back into sin.

Now, I am a little unsure about this, and you would probably be better off asking a True Christian™ male or Pastor, but if we take a look at this verse:

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" 1 Corinthians 6:19

It appears that sinning with your body defiles your spirit and offends the Lord. It seems to me that somebody being born again is therefore again a virgin, no matter what they did in their past.

And your special book in John 3 deals with the spirit not the flesh, it goes on about the spirit being reborn, and does make it clear that the flesh is not. So a heterosexual male who has been with a woman has flesh that has been defiled and can not be one of the 144,000 in the end times, but a Gay male who has been with a man is not similarly excluded.

It looks to me like your "god" has a soft spot for the Gays, does he want you to put them to death so they can join him quicker? the whole abomination thing just there to give you the motivation to get on with the job?
