    Re: The omnipotent God.

If you look at the world, surely it is to vast to be made by accident by a big band some way back in time?
surely there has to be something else?
The proof is all around you, you just have to open your eyes to it.

You have to remember that The Bible teaches us that humans are so utterly evil that we deserve damnation for the mere act of existing. Even those virtues you list like any other human being you do out of pure selfishness. Only Jesus is the source of true virtue so you have to turn to Him to be made worthy of life eternal friend.

But from my personal view, I see no logic in believing that a book was written by God just because it says that the book was written by God. Indeed, you are wandering lost in the world. It is good that you came here.

You have perhaps heard of Ian Fleming, who wrote the James Bond books? Now, answer me this, how do we know that Ian Fleming, who is now dead, either existed or wrote anything?

Is there any logic in believing that Ian Fleming wrote James Bond books? After all, there are people who said they knew him and said that he wrote the books.

Likewise, there are people in the Bible who spoke with God and who wrote down what He said. There are those who knew those who knew Christ and wrote down what He said and did.

So what sort of proof do you want? What is it that would make you say, “Yes, God exists.”

    Amen

started a topic The omnipotent God.

    The omnipotent God.

I'm not here to be hated, because I don't hate anyone of you. I just need help with a question.

I grew up with zero religious upbringing and because of this, I have logical ways of thinking about the word through scientific approaches. And I believe that my way of thinking is more correct than yours, just like you believe in your way of thinking that Jesus is your savior. But I'm digressing.

    My question:
Why is it that if God is omnipotent, he allowed me and many others to grow up in a society were there is such little evidence in believing God.
