What metaphor? I am simply attempting to get you and Hellswit to follow a straight logical path instead of just parroting all this fluffy-bunny hippie nonsense that the pair of you are so keen on.

"I'd rather be poor and have love than be rich and lonely." Blah, blah, blah, yap, yap, babble, babble...

But if you are talking about romantic love, there is no such thing -- at least not in the way you imagine it.

Of course, it may take you until you are about 30 to realise that what I'm saying is true. But true it is. Pull yourself together you little brat, and stop dreaming.

You just contradicted yourself quite impressively there.

YOU? Oh heck no! That's the last thing anyone thinks!

My mom is probally to young to find some Baptist man, and we are happy the way we are.

No one is EVER too young to become a Baptist. Just think, all you little girls could dress up in fluffy pink dresses, and matching shoes and white gloves and go to church every Sunday morning instead of wasting your lives as worthless pagans.

Besides, they don't allow computers in JV so I'm not there, and I don't think they allow 3 year olds either.

But the question that I am asking is a different one. The question could be put two ways:

    1) Would you rather be poor with love, or rich with love?
    2) Would you rather be miserable and poor or miserable and rich?

This isn't California; Brother Wash has the right to be tried by a journey of his peers. Round these parts, there is a very good likelihood that his peers will include a lot of good old Christian boys, who may not see things the same way you do. Understood?

This whole situation is starting to remind me of that incident with Bobby Joe and the bunnyman.

But on the more serious note, if he is caught and tried, he will be guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter which is classified under third degree murder in most states. And if the prosecutor has a good lawyer, the defendant (Brother Wash) will be charged with 1st degree murder, whereas he initially planned to kill any goth that crossed his path. Either way he's pinned with homicide and attempted genocide.
"Attempted genocide"? Well...in the broadest sense of the term, maybe...

Of course, of course. But we are not speaking about spending the vast majority of one's time working to get money. Just 40 odd hours, or even less, per week.

Once again, your argument assumes that being lonely and unloved goes inevitably with being rich. If that were the case, then one would be advised to avoid being rich. But it's not the case.

Oh dear. Yes, yes, yes, yes, being rich doesn't guarantee happiness, or love. But nor does it prevent it.

By the same token, being poor doesn't guarantee happiness, or love. And doesn't prevent it.

But I certainly see no evidence that being poor increases one's chances of being happy and loved.

There are a few homeless people in the city where I live and I see them going through rubbish bins and going off to where they sleep under a bridge in the park, none of them ever seem to look cheerful -- they usually look the picture of misery. Recently one of them was found dead: he had died of natural causes but they didn't find him for days -- until the smell of his decomposing body alerted passers by.

He was well known round town by sight but he never looked happy to me -- he looked miserable to, and he was always alone; he had no friends at all, let alone anyone who loved him. Most of the homeless here seem like that -- friendless and miserable. No, poverty doesn't increase one's chances of happiness and love.
