This years Freehold City Manger Scene

I Really like the manger scene for this years "Christmas without fear" display in the Strom Thrumond memorial plaza the city set up.

The baby Jesus flanked by two NOT gay warrior angels in US army uniforms is sweet. The life size depections of Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Pain, George Washington, Abram Lincoln, Ronald Regan, GW Bush and all the GOP presidential hopefuls kneeling before the new born Christ is very moving and very well done. I also like the audio portion with the David Brooks' lecture on how the West, Christianity and Capitalism saved civilization played to the Christmas music. Christian Christmas songs like "I am dreaming of a White Christmas" never sounded better!

Only one question - why is the adult Jesus kneeling to the baby version of Himself? I don't understand that.

    Well good stuff Mayor Joehold!

Anyway, what is your favorite part of this year's manger scene?

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

    I LOVE the Biblically-correct cherubim!

It's so refreshing to see a church (other than my own) that knows that a cherub is this:

and not at all like this:

Having R. J. Rushdoony as one of the Wise Men was truly a master stroke!

    Bible boring? Nonsense!
Try Bible in a Year with Brother V, or join Shirlee and the kids as they discuss Real Bible Stories!
You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

Yes! The one with Hitchen's severed head in his hands was perfect!

Oh that's who that was! I didn't recognize Mr Rushdoony in his robes. Who were the other two wisemen?

The other bit I liked was the display of King Herod plotting the Massacre of the Innocents, as played by Barrack Obama (since they both are secret Muslims) The Salome/ Nancy Pelosi dancing before King Herod/Obama was pretty good too!

Thank you, Brother Bobby, for that fine review of our Manger Scene.

One can kind of see that the Manager Committee has members with conflicting views of what to include--there never seems to be a meeting of the minds--so every idea gets included.

I alway tell the Committee when they start their work, "I don't care so much how you tell the story. Just be sure it focus' on Jesus and has no homerism."

There is always an issue with vandals. The most common prank is to push the Wise Men together so they are touching each other.

Otherwise, the Manager Scene is a great success with bumper to bumper cars driving by to take pictures. I must confess I'm out there most evenings greeting folks.

I was not amused when I drove by and saw that some joker had put a pickaninny baby in Jesus' manger. I tossed it out of course.

The display is nothing if not timely.

Oh that's who that was! I didn't recognize Mr Rushdoony in his robes. Who were the other two wisemen?
I'm not sure who one of them was, but are you SURE you don't know who the second was? Blue eyes, chiseled abs, short hair . . . You see him every Sunday . . . Named after a prophet in the Bible . . . >hint hint<

Is THAT what that was! That's a relief. Honestly, I was wondering why Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama were re-enacting a very, very different scene:

Barack Obama bows down to Jabba the UN,
while Nancy Pelosi, slave to the UN, poses and the
golden Republican Knight aims at the UN with a Godly Death Ray.

Re: This years Freehold City Manger Scene

We're working everyday to minimize the vandalism. Yesterday, I had one of the City maintenance guys put a long screw through the white baby Jesus doll and into a manger board so it could not be lifted out and replaced with a black face one.

Then, we've had trouble with people from the poor neigborhoods in Des Moines stealing sandels off the wise men maikins. We'll probably have to screw them down also, feet and sandels together.

But, the crowds have been good. The manger scene tells a beautiful story every year.

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by.

Did I mention how wonderful it is that you didn't put a mosque into the scene?

                  Apparently it's a Catholic thing.

The League, which has campaigned against the building of new mosques, bitterly attacked Father Prospero Bonzani as an "imbecile".
The miniature mosque, complete with a minaret, was included in the skyline of Bethlehem in the nativity scene at Father Bonzani's Our Lady of Providence church in the northern port of Genova.

The anti-immigration Northern League has called for a referendum to before any more mosques are built. Mario Borghezio, a Northern League MEP, called the priest an "imbecile" and said: "What on earth possessed him to put a mosque in a traditional Christmas nativity scene? I hope that the Church authorities in Genova will investigate this as a matter of urgency.''

He added: "What will this priest do when he says Mass during Ramadan? Ask us to turn towards Mecca? He may as well have included a suicide bomber wearing dynamite."
And the Santa Claus in boiling sulfur . . . well, I've never seen kids so touched by viewing a nativity scene!
