Jimi Hendrix drummer Mitchell dead at 62: official


LOS ANGELES (AFP) — British-born drummer Mitch Mitchell, the last surviving member of legendary 1960s band The Jimi Hendrix Experience, was found dead Wednesday in a hotel room in Oregon, officials said. He was 62.

Mitchell, whose innovative drumming was regarded as a crucial component of the Hendrix-led group's success, was discovered in the early hours of Wednesday at his hotel room, a county coroner's office spokesman told US media.

No cause of death was immediately available, but a statement on the official Jimi Hendrix website run by the late guitarist's estate said Mitchell died from natural causes.

"We're all devastated to hear of Mitch's passing," Janie Hendrix, chief executive of Experience Hendrix said. "He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend. His role in shaping the sound of the Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot be underestimated."

Mitchell had just completed an 18-city tour of the United States with Experience Hendrix, a concert series featuring guest performers playing tributes to the 1960s group's music. "Over the course of the recent tour (Mitch) seemed delighted with the interchange with the other musicians and the audiences. There is no question that he was doing what he loved," Janie Hendrix added.

Jimi Hendrix died in mysterious circumstances in London in 1970 at the age of 27, cutting short a ground-breaking rock career notable for his extraordinary guitar sound on albums "Are You Experienced" and "Electric Ladyland." The third member of the group, English bass guitarist Noel Redding, died in 2003 aged 57.

Why is it that your christians think that "retards" go to hell? Because they where born like that and had no conscious control over it? As such, it is God who created them like that. So it is God's fault that they are the way they are. If you claim it is for the sins of their parents, is it not the parents who should be punished? Put yourself in the position on a deformed child. All of your life you have done nothing wrong, because you are forced to lay in bed your entire life (lets say you are blind, deaf, and dumb). When you die, you end up in hell. Thats like being put in jail for a crime you did not commit! It is unfair. And put me on that hell train, I believe I made reservations...

Who said God is "fair?" And by who's standard? Try reading the Bible instead of guessing what it says, demon.

For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous.--Lev.21:18

Pastor Ezekiel is exactly right: Fairness is just not a Biblical concept. Try using God's Word for something other than rolling paper, and you'll find out these things.

Also, just because a person's physical condition is God's "fault," as you blasphemously put it, that doesn't mean that God in His sovereign majesty has to be politically correct about it:

I suspected you would say there is no fairness in the bible. Well if there is no fairness, then you christians can pray till your knees crack! All I see is "God hates..." who the hell are you to say what God does and does not hate?!?!?! I see a Betty Bowers animation "God told me to hate you". What is wrong with you people? "God is love" has no more meaning to you! You just take certain quotes from the bible out of context, and use it to justify your own hatred! Stop hiding behind religion. The act is stupid and it does not work anymore! If God is the love of the world, and Satan is evil, why is it God who murdered so many humans in the flood and by burning Soddom and Gommorah? Satan on the other hand, has a impressivly clean track record (if it where written, it would shine) for this sort of thing. You hear nothing about him murdering thousands of people. Feel free to post the exact verses you claim we have "taken out of context." You aren't the first heathen to make that accusation. We are perfectly able and willing to defend Jesus line-for-line.
