The Lord doth indeed move in mysterious ways. . . I would have thought that He might have acted on the matter of Miss Lynn ages ago.


Still, it is possible that her death will have more of an impact on morale now than it would have had a few years before.


I suppose God knew the exact time to remove her from the scene in order to cause the exact amount of grief and discouragement needed to make people appreciate Him more deeply.

I went to an Eskimo restaurant and asked the waiter about the specials.

He said: 'We've got whale meat, or whale meat, or whale meat or we've got the Vera Lynn.'

I said 'What's the Vera Lynn?'

He said 'Whale meat again.'
