I don't think Miss Dolezal is called that any more. Instead she has adopted some sort of West African name, so as to better identify with her imaginary ancestors. It is all very sad.

But to return to the question of Ben Cross, I think the SJWs are going to have to give up on any campaign to protest against the casting director failing to find anyone who self-identified as a Vulcan and could act. The question of the Jew in Chariots of Fire is quite different. The movie was made in 1981, so surely Woody Allen or Mel Brooks could have filled the role? Or Dustin Hoffman. I initially thought of Danny Kaye, a more athletic performer, but he was 70 years old at the time.

What about someone who "identified" as a Vulcan?

Wasn't that discussed during the Rachel Dolezal case? My understanding is that even though social scientists claim race to be a social construct, one cannot change their race as they feel like.
