Re: True Christian™ ways to die

The Bible tells us how some of the heroes of the faith died.

    Heb 11:36-38
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
    37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

These men are an inspiration to me (Heb 12:1-2), and Jesus made it clear we must all be ready to die for Him (Mat 10:28). As we approach the End Times, the prospect of martyrdom increases. Throughout the Western world our right to impose the standards of the Bible on others is being eroded. Persecution is escalating. It won't be long before the occasional dirty looks we get for speaking out for Jesus translate into torture and death.

I would be honored to die a martyr because if I pass the test of confessing Jesus before my persecutors because I'm more afraid of going to hell than dying (Mat 10:28), I will be more assured of a place in heaven (Mat 10:32) than I already am for believing in Jesus (Jn 14:1-2). I'm not too worried about the pain, because God promises never test us above what we are able to bear (1 Cor 10:13), and we can do all things through Christ anyway (Phil 4:13). But there is a simple prayer to signal God that it's time to beam you up. Following Jesus' example (Lk 23:34; Lk 23:46), Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Acts 7:59b) and "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge" (Acts 7:60b), which seems to have had immediate effect (Acts 7:60).

If I get stoned or sawn in half, I will count it a great honor. Failing this, I would like to die in my sleep at the age of 80.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Re: True Christian™ ways to die

Of course I want to live a long, blessed life, but we have to go home some time and if I had my druthers, I always wanted to be mauled by a tiger...but then that fag Ziegfried or Rory or whoever went and ruined that for me, so now I'd prefer being trampled by an elephant.

It does seem like death as a result of religious persecution would be most fitting for a True Christian™ (Matthew 5:10). With the way atheism is gaining momentum, we may all just get our wishes, friends.
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy. (2 Chronicles 36:16)

The others have told of the test of bravery they'd like to die by so that when others learn of their death they'd think of that Brave True Christian and his steadfast testimony.

I'd like to be one of the apostles murdered in the last days on international TV.

          Rev 11:3 ... 8-10:
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

The privaldge of dying for Christ and being a jeered-at, lifeless sack of a corpse littering the street, on display for Him, for several days fills me with joy.

If those spots are already filled according to His plan, I could die after withdstanding days of sexural temptation and be happy with that. For Jesus!
Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. -- Isaiah 24:6 KJV
