Nephew Zebulun came round the other day to borrow the Bathfire Yacht, presently moored at Matha’s Vinyard. As I as writing out a check to cover the cost of the food and drink for him, his friends and 9 female sophomores (who he says are from some Bible College), I was stung by a wasp. As I was jumping around in agony, Zebulun comforted me with
Ge:1:25: And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Now I am as willing to accept the explanation “We do not understand God’s Ways.” as much as the next thinking person, but this seems to be an error on the part of the draughtsman or an error by God Himself! But this is impossible – even for God… I think…
Whatever the case, the thing is that it is the absolute and undeniable Truth, proven by the wisdom of the ages, and the sure and certain belief in the Life Hereafter, that we were given free will so that we might worship God and follow his ways, not by compulsion but by recognising and accepting His Ways as the way to Eternal Life.
Now, unless venomous creatures, bacteria and viruses are directly controlled by God, then they too have free will. I can hardly believe that the wasp was controlled by God. However, unlike us, it doesn't matter whether wasps behave reasonably or unreasonably: they have no moral compass; they have no soul and neither go to heaven or hell - they just die, which is not like people at all.
You see, there is no incentive for venomous creatures, bacteria and viruses to behave well, yet according to all I have been taught by the fines minds (Ken Ham, Pat Robertson, Pastor Zeke, etc.) that God placed them upon Earth and “saw that it was good.”
I will be starting a petition to God in the form of a marathon “Pray-In” to humbly request Out Lord and Saviour, God and the Holy Spirit grant conditional eternal life to venomous creatures, bacteria and viruses that the Christian ones might follow His Ways and be with us in Heaven, for I believe that insects and man can co-exist peacefully. (Isa:11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.)
