  • Should the Amish be Allowed to Vote

Pennsylvania is called a battleground state. It's always very close. I used to believe that because the Amish don't have cars they really should not be allowed to vote. Now I've learned the ones who do vote are mostly Republicans. I've come to realize we need their votes even if the show up at the polls with their smelly horses and buggies. I do hope the bring their own shovels so our well dressed Republican Pennsylvania white ladies do not soil their stilettos.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I must admit that the problem didn't occur to me until you said it. You should have mentioned it earlier, Mr Mayor - I could've arranged for cattle guards to be installed at a suitable distance.

The Amish may be weird, but in America, even the weird can vote.

How many Amish does it take to change a lightbulb?
    A what?

The good thing about the Amish is that you can say what you want about them on the internet - they'll never see it.

That is a point that has occurred to me as well, Brother Bathfire. And if by some chance someone informs an Amish person that they are being mocked, there isn't very much that they can do about. They have ZERO guns and they eshew the use of buttons because they think it keeps them humble. . . Buttons, can you believe that?! Did Jesus say one word in the Bible about avoiding buttons? How silly are some people?

His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

I see this as "humble baosting" - "Oo, look at me! I can afford fancy stichwork and labor intensve products.

Indeed He did not Miss Handmaiden.

As someone before me said: "..allowing adiaphora to creep into credenda -- while possibly pushing the theologoumenic envelope and providing new opportunities for supererogative works -- will most often serve to muddy the soteriological foundation of Faith."

We had one of them here, one time. Sad. I miss her: she was so close to Jesus.

          probably not Jesus

There you go again! The Founding Fathers give you a crack at Democracy once every 4 years, and what's your attitude? "You're mad to vote!"

We will continue voting until a Republican Party with the strength to turn the country over to a theocracy is voted in.

You mean she was knocking on Death's door? Did she survive or is she stoking the Fires of Hell?
