THIS is absolutely outrageous and un-American!

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The parents who carried out the balloon boy hoax were sentenced to jail Wednesday and given strict probation conditions that forbid them from earning any money from the spectacle for four years.

Did you catch that?! The government is not only telling us how to raise our kids and control what we can and cannot not do to them, but is also telling us how we can and cannot make money through honest enterprises!

I really feel for these parents. I deal with this red tape every day at my shop. "You can't leave loaded, unlocked firearms on the shelves! You can't waive background checks because your customers go to your church! You can't sell targets shaped like Keith Olbermann!"

GOD help us!

For a reasonable 'fee', I am willing to manage any possible royalties from the balloning. These will be kept in a secure account in Andorra. At the end of the four year period, the trust I will of created will provide a monthly stipend.

Like the rest of you, I'm outraged. But if those people were smart, they should do like I do. This is how I'd handle it...

Call up my congressmen and offer a $1 million campaign contribution, in exchange for passage of the Balloon Fraud Protection Act. This would retro-actively legalize fraud as it pertains to balloons, plus those convicted previously would be pardoned, and it would set up a "compensation fund" that would give $10 million to each person previously convicted for this "crime" by liberal judges. Plus, it would grant the victims of those liberal judges no-bid contracts to supply weather balloons to the US government. Of course, once I had one of those no-bid contracts, I'd subcontract the whole job out to one of our factories in China.

You see, it's really easy. You just have to understand how our legal system works. Privatize the profits, socialize the risks...as God intended!

Just so long as the lay-about poor remain so, as God intended -- and the sanctity of private property remains secure -- then the law can have whatever way it wants to have with the Fort Collins Balloon family, as far as I'm concerned. The mother's got a real Mexican look to her, and I doubt she's here legally.

Or have you just been watching fox news your whole life?
Is capitalism christian? Are corporate monopolies forcing small buisnesses out of work christian? But all the highest paid work so hard! Just look movie stars and pop icons. I'm sure they earned all their money from good honest work. People need to stop throwing words around that they don't know the meaning of as a scare tactic.
