      Re: The Surge in Iraq

I am positive that twenty years from now the surge will go down in history as one of the most brilliant and boldest military maneuvers ever done. Sure they called Custer an idiot before Little Bighorn, Picket before Gettysburg and Macarthur before Corregidor but events showed those critics. We can be sure that GW Bush will join this pantheon of American military heroes.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

General Petreaus is a brilliant man, but I think we all know deep down that the brilliant and shockingly successful idea for the surge came from Our Commander-in-Chief.

Who would have ever thought that thousands more troops would have such a beneficial effect?

I feel lucky to be a citizen of a country led by such a brilliant and wonderful man.

I don't believe it's luck. I believe that God has put you right where He wants you, so that you can glorify Him. Here is a Bible verse that I like to remember whenever luck seems to enter into it:

Prov. 16:33: The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof [is] of the LORD.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

I do believe you may be right. And I think God also must have known that Our Commander-in-Chief's valuable experience in the Texas Air National Guard during Vietnam would be crucial in leading this Global War Against Islamofascism.

Could you imagine how disasterous it would have been had the United States elected failed coward John Kerry? That flip-flopper helped lose the Vietnam war, while Mr. Bush was spectacularly successful in defending Texas and Alabama against the Vietnamese.

Check back once 2008 comes around if the Demoncrats steal the office of the President. I'm sure they'll turn this boat around and make it another Vietnam.

I think both of you are right. If Gore or Kerry had been elected, and/or if a demoncrat takes office in 2008, I can guarantee you that all hell will break loose over there.

Jesus has revealed to me that a bloody civil war would have/will ensue under demoncrat rule. The various mudslime factions will turn on each other. Women and children will be slaughtered wholesale. The al queada terrorist cult will triple in strength, recruiting new members in droves. Dogs will run wild in the streets, schools will go unpainted, and the abortion rate will quadruple if the demoncrats take over. In short, Iraq will become an unspeakable bloodbath and all of the victories and successes America has enjoyed under the brilliant leadership of GWB will be eradicated in a flash.

All the more reason to work hard to ensure that George W. Bush stays in office for an indefinite period of time. Give the guy a chance to let the surge work its magic! Glory!!
                  Who Will Jesus Damn?

If anyone still has doubts about the spectacular success of the surge, take a look at THIS. Before we arrived, these sand monkeys were living in mud huts and bathing in camel dung—now they are world-renowned soccer champions! Isn't that amazing? And it's all thanks to GWB!

I was tempted to vote "all of the above", but I thought the "darn clever" option used slightly rough language, and wasn't sure if I wanted to endorse that kind of gutter talk, so I had to settle for "highly successful." But I think we can all agree that he's certainly put the "surge" back in "insurgency." Now all we need to do is stop these foreign fighters from flowing into the country to destabilise it. I'd say the best way to bring peace to this troubled region would be to launch massive bombing campaigns against Iran, Lebanon and Syria, and a ground invasion of Cambodia.

Good point - how many generals can you name from the Injun Wars, other than Custer? I can just about remember Sherman and Sheridan, but only because they nearly have the same name - I'd say Custer's probably the most famous American to have emerged from that particular period of history. I'm sure that, just as Custer is still remembered while duller, less courageous generals have gone down into obscurity, Our Glorious Leader's memory will live for ever!
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.
