Finally, and my third possibility, is it could be lack of education that allows the left to lack empathy. They are not exposed to right-leaning and libertarian ideas. For example, how many classes at school are teaching about the ideas of Hayek, Friedman, and Rand? If kids grow up without this information, they may turn into adults who lack the ability to understand other points of view.

The left is so caught up with pushing their socialist agenda like public health care that they have lost any compassion or empathy for anyone who doesn't think like them. If you look at what a liberal reads it is a confusing miss mash of ideas and philosophy, much of it contradictory. The same can be said of their humor were they take their ideological opponents ideas and skew them. Clearly the kind of mind that can coldly take an idea it doesn't embrace and deconstruct it while ignoring the emotional context the idea is believed in lacks warmth, passion and empathy.

The mocking liberals are the hate mongers here destroying this country.

The left is so caught up with pushing their socialist agenda like public health care that they have lost any compassion or empathy for anyone who doesn't think like them. I think both political parties should be done away with. We should not have political parties anyway since it causes much conflict. I have seen lack of warmth, passion, and empathy on both sides. Stop finger poniting at just one side. It is both sides that cannot get along with each other. I have also seen right wing try and force their beliefs or policies on all the people. For example when Bush was in office he had Stem Cell research banned or illegal. That is not forcing personal beliefs or policies on the people? I know that is. I think that both parties should be done away with and that we should think of what is best for the people as a whole and not let personal beliefs(including yours) get in the way.

How is stopping the whole sale murder of pre-conceived babies a lack of warmth or compassion? Everyone agrees murder is wrong.

As Christian it is a central tenant of my faith that my God commands me to force my beliefs down everyone ones throats no matter the pain and suffering it causes. Additionally, my beliefs tell if if I don't force my beliefs on others I will be damned to eternal torment in Hell by my loving Savior. Were is your compassion, were is your empathy when you force me to forgo my deeply held beliefs?

But it is okay to kill someone in the name of so called "god"? That is where you are being a hypocrite. I will not bring my personal beliefs in on the topic of Stem Cell research. You just brought in your personal beliefs on Stem Cell research though. So that is an example of personal beliefs gettting in the way.

We Christians don't kill anyone in the name of our beliefs; according to the Bible sinners kill themselves. At best it is Christian assisted suicide and we are the victims here.

As far as personal beliefs go how do you define what a human life is friend? According to biologists there is no point were there is an unalive thing; both the sperm and egg are always alive and the same with the fetus. When that sperm and egg becomes a human can not be determined scientifically so is a matter of opinion.

The seething hatred by the left, especially over the past 14 months, has been truly frightening. The rhetoric has gotten out of control, and the searing words of violence and hate have echoed throughout the land. I'm afraid that at any point the entire country could go up in flames, and rivers of blood will choke the streets!

Things have gotten so bad that mild-mannered Teabagging Conservative Patriots-- in fear of their own safety-- have been forced to stockpile automatic weapons, go out on additional paramilitary training exercises, spit on congressmen, break windows, make death threats against elected officials, and ram their SUVs into people with Obama bumper stickers in self defense.

I blame the liberal media, activist judges, and DEMONcrat politicians. Sad that it's come to this in America.
