3And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.


Jesus called upon the poor to cast in their entire living, because they had so little. How merciful of Him to not put them in debtor's prison since they did not have enough money to pay as much as the rich! This way they were able to continue working and paying Jesus everything they earned!



Once Republicans are in power in the US and we can establish a True Christian(tm) theocracy, then we can tax the poor how Jesus meant for them to be taxed: 100% of their earnings and savings!

It is utterly reprehensible when poor people prioritize spending on themselves or their earthly families over returning to the LORD what is already His.

Haggai 2:8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

The tithe is the LORD's and He expects us to pay it to Him. At the same time, He does not receive it until we give it to Him. He does not give us the authority to use His tithes for other purposes, but we have the power to spend it as long as it is in our hands. Nevertheless, a person is condemned if he spends God's money.

Malachi 3:8-9
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

Some people put their money into "a bag with holes" (Haggai 1:6). They do not give God His tithe, bit they eventually spend the money for automobile repairs, medical bills, and a thousand other things that they might have avoided if they had been faithful to God in their giving.

Similarly the GREEDY POOR would likely not be so destitute if they would have done the right thing in the first place and given what little they have over to their local Independent Baptist Church.

Poor people are so irresponsible that they can't even take care of their own families, so they end up sucking on the government teat forever. The Bible tells us that people who DON'T provide for their kin are even worse than mooslims:

(1 Timothy 5:8) "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

Any money that they do manage to acquire they end up wasting on Miley Cyrus records and organic milk. Tax them properly, and you take those temptations away.

Taxing the poor is just common sense; let's say there are 100,000,000 poor in the US and there are 421 Billionaires.

$1000 p.a. from each poor person (not unreasonable) raises $100 Billion but $1000 from 421 Billionaires only raises $421,000. With the cost of collecting taxes, it's hardly worth taxing the rich at all.

This is SO easy. Basic economics.

Tax something and you get less of it.

Tax widgets and you raise the price of widgets. Demand drops.

Tax being poor and you make it more expensive to be poor. Being poor becomes relatively less attractive. Finally, people have the incentive they need to make choices that will take them out of poverty to escape the tax load.

Tax the poor to reduce the ranks of the poor! A smack up not a handout.

I'll add, the poor are almost always fluffy bunny Christians and do not love God as much as those of us with scads of money. We already learned that if we expose our love for Jesus, Jesus exposes Himself right back at you tenfold. All God wants to do is make everyone rich.

Did not Jesus say, "Ga:3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."?

And did He not add,"2nd Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2nd Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"?

Would you give a job to a non-Christian or let such a creature have a place on the Board? No! Let them who deny God deny themselves His Riches.

Christians that have come to me for work have always been hired - even if other candidates said they were better. You know what liars atheists are! But you always know where you are with a Christian.

Why not sacrifice all of them in the name of god and grant all their wealth to the church? This would end the scourge of poverty, heathenism, rap music and instill the fear of god in the population.

Excellent logic, Brother Bob! Did you realize that beggars don't pay any income tax! They don't even have to file a tax return. No wonder they want to stay poor! I say we should tax them at a rate of 90% - that will give them incentive to start investing in mortgage-backed securities and credit-default swaps, and earn billions like me.


Tax cheats

The only thing I would add to your logical reasoning: by taxing the rich, there is less incentive to be rich. Thus, by eliminating taxes on the top 1% of income earners, people will have more incentive to join that 1%, and thus will work harder to do so.

Taken to its logical conclusion, the government should not only stop taxing the richest 1%, but rather subsidize them. I think it's fair and reasonable that for every billion I earn, the government should give me an additional billion. This is the best way to increase prosperity and grow the economy.

As long as the government taxes the rich disproportionately, people will have no incentive to earn money. This makes perfect sense.

I think it all should be fair.
Tax everyone $20,000 a year. And then send everyone equal shares of medicaid, welfare, unemployment, SSI and the rest.
Why single out poor people as poor, treat eveyone the same.
