What we Christian Republican American Patriots must do is keep emphasizing John McCain's independence and intelligence.

After all, when called on by the Republican Party to support Operation Iraq Liberation, did John McCain blindly follow the party line -- or did he evaluate the situation independently and with intelligence?

Before the war he said, "I believe that Saddam Hussein presents clear and present danger to the United States of America..."

During the run-up to the invasion he said, "I believe we can win an overwhelming victory, in a very short time" and, on the eve of the invasion he said, "I believe that this conflict is still going to be relatively short."

After the first four months of the occupation, he said "We’re not going to get into house-to-house fighting in Baghdad."

He said, "There's no doubt in my mind that once these [Baathist] people are gone that we will be welcomed as liberators."

We need to emphasize that John McCain's God-given wisdom as a realistic, independent thinker, who DOES NOT have mashed turnips for brains.

I like you, Dances without Joy. You remind me of this chick I met while investigating a distress call anomaly on Anthrax 4, though I'm sure you're lacking a tail and/or gills. The concepts of "love" and "forgiveness" were alien to her too, but after some 40 or so minutes of adventure that somehow included Spock temporarily developing a luminous purple glow that in the end helped us escape the Romulan torture tunnels, she finally learnt what it all meant and was able to live a richer, fully life for it. Until she was struck down by her own people's treachery seconds later.

If, after four years of state-aproved torture and a war that is without end, the people of the USA reelect the party responsible for it then I will lose all faith in humanity.

Logically, that's awfully hard on the Sudanese -- they're not voting Republican in the US election. You might at least retain faith in them.

Anyway, in the USA political conservatism has, for the last half-century, been marked by love of authority. Of course Christianity is the epitome of authoritarian systems -- you just don't get a more perfect and unquestionable Leader than God. It is a tenet of Christian faith that you don't question God's will.

Christians struggle to bring America into conformance with the will of Jesus the Christ. Empirically we find that strong fundamentalist Christianity equates to strong faith in the Christian-anointed political leaders. Theoretically this appears to mirror Biblical political faith: Abraham was not to be questioned, Moses was not to be questioned.

My God and Jesus, right or wrong easily becomes my Christian Conservative President, right or wrong.

Thus, to win in November what we Christians conservatives must do is convince our brethren that John McCain is the Anointed of God -- just as we convinced the brethren that George W. Bush was the Anointed of God. TWICE!

Now, if someone wants to defeat us -- and I assume that rational agnostics, atheists, compassionate humanists, and cat-lovers do want to defeat neoconservative Republicans -- then it might be best to attack John McCain's worthiness to be the leader who is Anointed of God. Attack him not on logical grounds, but on belief-based grounds -- because Christian America does not think, it Believes.

Listen up, pal; Not only is the next president going to be a Godly Republican, but he's going to be God's HAND PICKED Godly Republican. Ever since the terrible Clinton regime, when welfare handouts quadrupled and queers were encouraged to join the military and the red chinee had a stranglehold on our economy, Jesus has taken a personal interest in selecting our leader.

In 2000, The vile communist Al Gore won the election, but Jesus intervened and blessed us with George W. Bush. Immediately, things changed in America and the world! You can't deny that! And in the 2004 election, the vile communist John Kerry came close to turning GWB out on the street, but Jesus intervened and reinstated our Godly President once again.
