SAVAR, Bangladesh -Two owners of garment factories in a Bangladesh building that collapsed into a pile of mangled metal and concrete have been arrested as public fury mounts over the accident that left at least 324 dead.
Junior Home Minister Shamsul Haque Tuku said Saturday that police had arrested Bazlus Samad, managing director of New Wave Apparels Ltd., and Mahmudur Rahman Tapash, the company chairman.

I must say that when I heard the news, I was deeply shocked. You see, my company, Uranus Corporation, was the owner of that factory. And I must say, what a great factory it was - one of our most profitable! The children who worked there were all well-fed, given a clean mat to sleep on under their sewing tables, and we only used the most humane comfortable leg irons on them. I would say it was a model factory, better than anything we have for our Chink gulag employees.
Anyway, just last week we decided to do a great Christian charitable deed and donate the entire factory to the Bangladeshi people! We did this just hours after receiving a report from our site engineer about the integrity of the building structure. Although the engineer did note a few issues involving "cracks" (which he circled with a big red pen), we didn't think it was important that our employees liked to make wise cracks at work - I'm mean, after all, we've got a sense of humor too. So we edited out that nonsense about the wise cracks, and our accountants entered the report from the engineer, reporting that the building was certified as 100% safe.
Then, after a brief board meeting, we decided that we wanted to do something nice for our employees, to reward them for all their years of loyal service. We randomly chose two of our supervisors, Mr Bazlus Samad and Mr Mahmudur Rahman Tapash, promoted them to managing director and company chairman respectively, and donated the entire building to them! They couldn't believe their good fortune. We presented them with the deed (which we back-dated five years), congratulated them, took some photos of the ceremony (which we've accidentally deleted later - sorry) and promptly hurried the American managers into a LearJet and out of the country.
Then just two days later, the building collapsed! Well, you can imagine how shocked we were! I mean here we go and do a great charitable thing to help the poor, and then those sunburned curry eaters just let the whole thing go to pot in a few days and building collapses.
I swear, it's no use trying to help the poor. Without the job creators like myself to run things, that pissant little country would go to Hell in a handbasket.

Great gift for the Bangladeshi people. Only needs a roof job.
