Social problems such as drug abuse, grafitti, underage drinking, wrecking cars, retail theft have long been a major problem in many of our towns and cities. As a police officer, I specialize in juvenile crime prevention, and in doing my job it seems that the reasons for juvenile offending are varied and complex.

In a nutshell, crime stems from poverty and social exclusion. If you walk around deprived neighborhoods in any city, you'll find groups of kids on the streets who are simply searching for some meaning in life, or something to do.

As Christians, we are called to have compassion for people in situations that we may not understand. The mennonite community have, through their faith, been inspired to undertake some wonderful work using 'restorative justice' initiatives to reintegrate offenders back into the community. I'm wondering whether anyone here has any useful ideas, from a Christian perspective, over the types of intervention that might help give young people a sense of meaning and purpose to their lives and distract them from crime and gang cultures.

I'm willing to bet that you wouldn't get anything like as many young punks running round the place causing problems for normal decent people if they knew they faced the prospect of being lethally killed as a result. God said it, I agree with it, that settles it.

Crime and poverty and homersexurality and gothism and retardism and being a damned foreigner stealing American jobs all stem from the same thing: the wanton rejection of Christ.

I'll have you know some Godless liberal policeman had the GULL to give ME, a GOD-FEARING, COMMANDMENT KEEPING CHURCH GOER A SPEEDING TICKET THE DAY AFTER OUR COUNTRY'S BIRTHDAY!

If I was speeding, it was only because I was anxious to go share the gospel with the rest of the world, and clearly, this man was being used by the devil to delay that message. If you were any kind of True Christian, you'd help me and JESUS thwart this secular attempt to silence Christianity by giving me some advice on how to get out of giving money that rightfully belongs to GOD to the state of Kansas, which has thrown away morality by electing a demoncrat as Governor. Maybe then you'd earn some points around here, by helping a fellow Christian, you know. Just a suggestion.

Oh yes, youth crime is a problem. I think Brother Temperance presented the solution very well.

CHARLOTTE -- While the arrests last week of more than 20 suspected MS-13 members sent a clear message to those currently in gangs, some say the significance of the roundup could be felt even more in future recruitment.

Local, state and federal law officers went to various neighborhoods and made numerous arrests Tuesday. Several of the suspects appeared in court Friday and were indicted on racketeering, narcotics, extortion and firearms charges.

This is organized crime, and just like we had specific laws to target organized crime in trying to break up the mafia, we need laws to break up the gangs,” said Patrick L. These are coordinated and strategic acts within a structure, and you have to go after that structure.”

But some critics in North Carolina worry that the proposed law would worsen racial profiling in a state where African-Americans are less than a quarter of the population but account for nearly 60 percent of state prison inmates.

I think Pat McCrory is on top of the situtation. When he applauded the C-M PD last year, however, he was openly criticicized by the NAACP.

McCrory knows that what Charlotte needs are more jail cells for juvenile offenders. Banning baggy pants seems like a good initiative as well. Colored thugs are turning Charlotte's transit center and malls into havens for drug dealing. The "Kings" and the "Crips" rule.

The Charlotte Observer reported about Scott Yamanashi- a man who survived a shooting at the Snug Harbor bar. He is starting an armed patrol in his community. Mr. Yamanashi formed the group called Neighborhood Watch Alliance, which is comprised of some of his friends from businesses off Central Avenue.

He said the plan is for the group to patrol the Central Avenue area with handguns, flashlights and notepads. "We can lurk in the shadows, watch people and report what we see,” he said. “That's not against the law.”

Yamanashi said his group plans to get T-shirts and walk through the business district. They will take notes about criminal activity and report it to police. Not all members will be armed but those who have permits to conceal their handguns likely will. His group wants to be the 'eyes and ears” for the police. Eventually he'd like to raise money to buy radios so the group and business owners can communicate, he said.

I talked with my good friends in Charlotte. They live in Myers Park and did not think there was much of a gangsta problem in their neighborhood. As a cop, you should be willing to frankly address this problem by calling a spade a spade. Perhaps Rusty and Amy Jacques would consider establishing an Ex-nigra Ministry at Park Road? You should invite them to contact Brother Remy in this regard.

That makes me think of another point...today's white children are trained by the television to respect and emulate the actions of the common nigra. So now we not only have crime coming from the ghettos, but also from the good neighborhoods as well. The hip-hop culture has a stranglehold on our communities.

CHARLOTTE -- Youth violence prevention groups are attempting to fight the rise in juvenile crime. Earlier this week, 18-year-old Terry Long and his brother, 17-year-old Joshua Davis, were shot and killed. That brings the total of teens killed by gunfire in Charlotte this year to five.
