I am always so disappointed when a formerly upright church group bows down to mob mentality.
The latest case of this is a Christian artist being forced to re-do their portrait of Jesus. Now, we have the famous "Laughing Jesus" painted black.
Now, the problem I have with this is, it is A.) Revisionist History, and B.) An example of how we religious people are constantly pressured to "update" our faith and principals, to go against all we know to be true!
The artist shares: Our Jesus Laughing of Color is the first of its kind. Over the years, people of all races have been blessed by the inspirational art of Jesus Laughing, whether or not their skin color matched the skin color in the image. From time to time, I've been asked to paint a picture of a "black" Jesus Laughing and here is our response to those requests. Inspired by and dedicated to our brothers and sisters of color, we call it Jesus Laughing of Color. God is whatever color He needs to be in order to let people know that they ARE somebody and worth something because they were created in God's own image. Genesis 1:26-27.
