Since your' from the United States originally is it some kind of American Indian tradition were man stole life from the gods so human blood is required in payment? From wikki

Yule was the winter solstice celebration of the Germanic pagans. In Germanic Neopaganism it is one of the eight solar holidays, or sabbats, where Yule is celebrated on the winter solstice: in the northern hemisphere, circa December 21, and in the southern hemisphere, circa June 21.
            and

Samhain (IPA: [ˈsawənʲ]) is the word for November in the Irish language. The Scottish Gaelic spelling is Samhuinn. The same word was used for a month in the Celtic calendar, and in particular the first three nights of this month, the festival marking the ending of the summer season.
So, for half the world, Yule is in June, making it come before Samhain.

Hope this clears up (or adds to) your confusion.

Eclectics, BJ, are those who do not stick purely to one form of paganism but incorporate other versions as well.
The word 'pagan' can also be used to describe one who has a polytheistic belief, usually involving pre-christian Gods.
An eclectic is often a mixture of the two above.

Seeing as most people on this forum seem to be in the northern hemisphere, I was compensating for them.
Seeing as a lot of people here prefer not to recognize the existence of the southern hemisphere anyway.

"Usually"? as in "not necesserly pre-Christian? As in "we just made this nonsense up"? Really Rachael, as a Christian I can argue I am coming from a tradition that dates back to the beginging of the world (or to humor you secularists the Bronze age since you just must invent a human pre-history)

When I said usually in my previous post, I did not refer to my own beliefs. I refer mroe to traditions like wicca which, though they take their ideas from ancient roots, actually came into being as a religion in the 1950's.

Godless harlot! You will be BANNED if you continue to use this GODLY forum to bang on and on about your "southern hemisphere!"
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

"Ancient roots" like Indo-European? Pretty large group, stretched from China to Germany. Worship the four elements and consider old people worthless, best to abandon them on the steps? Is that the ancient root?
