    How much is that, please?!?!?

I visited the hardware store today to get some plastic tubing to extend my gutter drain spouts. It comes pre-packaged at 8' for 2.99, but it's also sold by the foot for 19c/ft. I wasn't born yesterday, so I bought 12' off the roll. I think that'll be enough.

I couldn't resist stopping for lunch next door at the Hop Sing Wong Wok place for the lunch special, Kung Pow chicken. I love all the peanuts. They have a different special each day for 5.99.

The lady who usually serves the food was in the back cooking so I had to order from a man I think it's her husband.

"Do you want small or large?"
I don't know, I just want the special that's posted on the door.

Then he charged me seven dollars even for my lunch. I was confused and asked if there was some new tax on restaurants that I didn't know about. He pointed at the menu where it costs 6.50. I pointed to the sign on the door that advertises 5.99. This is when the dirty Chinese got angry and said "we no charge that price no more". He walks right over to the sign and pulls it off the door and throws it in the trash.

Right now is when my brain starts whirring- I can't believe what's going on. I poked my finger in his face and told him that he was wrong, that you can't advertise your product for one price and then charge another at the register.

He grabbed the cash in my hand for some reason and angrily counted out an additional 50c from the register for me. "You pay fifty for tax now". I'm glad he didn't grab my lunch, too, at this point I was feeling really hungry. What was going on? Was he just keeping the change for a tip? You can bet that I didn't put it in the tip jar after being treated like that.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Sounds like one of those martial art cartoon characters -- which is why we cannot trust Chinese food! GOD only knows what violence they subject their food to.

Re: How much is that, please?!?!?

As you all know, I spend quite a bit of time doing missionary work over in the ornamental countries, trying my True Christian(tm) best to bring the Good News about Jesus Christ. I can tell you that hardly a day goes by that I don't have to commit violence just to get served a decent meal over there.

I ask for a plate of bread and butter with my supper; They try and tell me that they don't serve bread and butter in a chop suey house! I demand that they have the chef cook my fish before serving it to me; They claim that I'm supposed to eat it raw! I order a glass of wine with my dinner; They want me to drink some kind of turpentine made out of rice! I offer to pay for my meal with God's favorite currency (American Dollars!); They demand some kind of gook funny money!

Nobody truly appreciates what I go through on behalf of Jesus.

Sushi is excellent, i think you'd like it if you gave it a try
Unlike chickenand meat, fish is not harmful if eaten raw. Next time ask what kind of Yakissoba or if they make Koni.
I've never met you yet, but despite religion i'm sure anyone would love it lest they just give it a try.

If the Good Lord would have intended for man to eat raw fish, He would not have given us FIRE and a charcoal grill! Beef, its what we are eating tonight!

If he did not intend for us to eat fish raw, then why are they here?

I guess it's true we learn something new every day...

Update: I was walking by the same shop today and the same sign is in the window again. I mean, literally the same sign. They must have dug it out of the trash right after I left.

What is this supposed to mean? They can offer the special to everyone except me? I wonder if anyone else gets denied the lunch special?
