What is a kush?

My son saw a t-shirt at the mall that said "Kush" on it. He got very excited and instantly asked for money to buy it. I told him to slow down and not act like a drug crazed Nigra. Obviously with so much sin out there I was not willing to fork over my hard earned american money until I know what "kush" meant. (I convert our worthless currency to the currency God uses).

I asked him but his answer made no sense something about injuns and darkies and plants and nature and medicine and mountains and stuff. I just shook my head and told him that I would look into it.

I read the KJV cover to cover again when I got home and could only find a reference to Ethans father:

1 Chronicles 15:17
So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

Kushaiah? Is kush a short form of Kushaiah?

Yes,.. I have seen kids even in Freehold with T-shirts saying things like "Chronic Kush" "Smoking Hot Kush" or "Happiness is a face full of Kush". I though "Kush" was the name of ancient Sudan. This some kind of interracial experimenting with kids?

As a Canadian I thought you would have known - Frank Joseph Kush was the coach of the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1981.

I don't know how this relates to the T shirts Bobby Joe saw though..

If you could see the disappointment on my face when I read that "kush" might have some reference to the Canaan. My son was, is and always will be brought up Christian, but I am not standing for any sneaky deaky children of Ham kind of business.

I'm still hoping the shirt means Kushaiah.

I'm still a bit confused, but how could it mean anything other than Kushaiah?

I like to look at myself as an American in training. I have never heard of Frank Joseph Kush but my son likes to watch the Canaan run around with a ball so this could be it. One moment.

I just went to ask my son but he looks like he has been near his mother cutting onions. I said "Those onions must be strong to make your eyes so red" and got that patented blank teenage stare. I then asked him "who was the hamilton tiger cat's coach in 1981", again, blank stare. Seeing as the Canadian Football legue is going to hell, I don't think Frank Joseph Kush is the answer.

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt before I apply the cane however. He is a good boy, just a little vacant from time to time.

Aside from the comforting possibility Nobar King put forth, all I'm hearing is:

"KUSH IS SIN!"

I'm becoming a very concerned Christian parent (a VCCP). Is it possible my son wants a shirt glorifying coloreds sloppy fun bags? Or has Nobar King put forth the answer which not only glorifies Jesus but takes me out of my caning shoes and puts me back into my proud father shoes?

Lets hope this episode ends with us Killing Un-Saved Heathens(© 2012 Nobar King).
