You know, I woulda thought that the minute this came out there'd be a thread about it here. But I guess that's not the case, so here it is.
I'm wondering whether y'all liked it or not, considering all the different stuff in the movie. If you've seen it, you know that it revolves around Indy trying to rescue Mutt's father-in-law, and the CCCP become twisted into the story. Of course, there is a plot revolving around the crystal skulls as well. In the movie, the skull is said to awake a long lost intelligence SPOILER: that leads to the leader of the CCCP troop to her intimate demise.
You may be unaware of it, or not, but the crystal skull they make reference to is said about the crystal skulls that exist in the real world as well. You all know about the 2012 myth, right? The myth that in 2012 a planet-like object will come crashing down into Earth, destroying it? (which I do not believe at all). Mayan storytellers say that the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012, thus causing armageddon on Earth. They say that there are 13 crystal skulls spread out across the world, and that if they are united that they can prevent the imminent destruction of Earth. I say that's a load of crap, because how could Mayans, or any other ancient civilization predict when the end times will happen? Even the Bible does not offer an exact date for the destruction of Earth.
So my three initial questions are:
Do you believe in 2012?
Do you believe that aliens (not illegal immigrants, space aliens) exist?
Did you like the new Indy movie?
