Is it a crime? No, certainly not. Not a legal crime, anyway. But a moral crime indeed. It is shameful to put yourself on a pedestal that towers above the ones you preach to. He is not better than you. You are all God's children, are you not? He is helping his community and all those around the world--FANTASTIC. But he should do it as an equal, NOT as a superior.

Okay, that's acceptable. Assuming what you say is true, he's still got a stretch goddamn limo. And that's only one thing that I know of; he could have a whole mountain of luxuries that are completely inaccessible to the average man, payed for BY MONEY FROM YOUR OWN POCKET. That is, in my opinion, absolutely despicable. Instead of helping the Church, or its followers, he helps himself. Disgusting.

Also, not accepting the help of another is not a display of humility, you dolt. It's a display of pride. And last time I checked, that's a sin.

Jim Osborne helps people from all over the world, preaching, giving them food, converting, and dispensing Bibles to the poor. He uses his wealth to keep Freehold a healthy, sanitary, and Godly town. Is it a crime to live a comfortable life while working daily to bring Jesus all over the world?

I will say this. Rev. Osborne is paid $1 a year from the Church. Some of his expenses are covered by the Church. He does without a great amount of the time. I know it pains him to appear well off. But studies have found, if he looks well off, in turn people will feel well off.
I have been to his home, trust me when I say he lives without. I found no Steuben Crystal nor golden swimming pools. Not a single luxury car.

A few weeks ago, I found the good Reverend by the side of the road, a flat tire having stopped him in his tracks. His car had no spare nor jack. He would not allow me to tow his car with my truck or lift a finger for him in any way. Now that is a humble man!

So educate me. Please. Justify the purchase of a stretched Escalade over, say, a non-stretched Escalade. A Lincoln. ANYTHING. Why a limo? And why was it purchased with YOUR MONEY? The money YOU are giving HIM should be used for the CHURCH, not for his own comfort. He should, as Cranky put it, dedicate his life to the Lord, not to Cadillac.

Why the luxury? That's all I'm asking. How can you pay him to buy these things, which he uses solely for himself? These women can be saved whether Big Jim's got a limo or not, that's all I'm saying. How can it be justified?

Why does Big Jim drive a stretch limo while the members of his cult--having given all their money to his cause--live in poverty? Is that limo necessary to save all these young, impressionable women? Shouldn't he spend that money on building more churches for his followers to worship and congregate in? Or maybe give some of it back to his fellow True Christians so that they can continue to put food in their stomachs and roofs above their heads?

He has been saved by Jesus, clearly--but so have you, thanks to his preachings. So why are you rewarding him with disgusting material possessions? Shouldn't your salvation be enough of a reward for him? He just prevented you from going to Hell for chrissake!

I'm not an expert on the Bible, so if somebody would be so kind as to direct me to the verse(s) that explain(s) how Jesus lived a life of luxury, funded by the money given to him by those he had saved, I will gladly shut my mouth (so to speak).

I guess I'm just a little confused about Mr. Osborne's motives here. Why doesn't he give all his money to some charitable cause, or give it to God for that matter? You say, "Jesus will provide", but it seems to me like the sheep in this herd are doing all the providing Osborne will ever need.

His followers do not live in poverty, I am perfectly able to live my life sufficiently with my $4.50 an hour. Our Godly Pastor is a pure man, and the money he is given is used to help niglets in Africa, and people all over the world. So, shouldn't a man doing the will of the Lord day by day at least be able to do it comfortably? The Limo is for a safe and luxurious travel, so he can be ready to preach and rebuke Satan amongst the mass crowds he preaches to.

I find it hard to believe you are EVEN QUESTIONING our pastor's ways, for his motives are straight from the Lord himself. You're foolish .

I saw this link to this thread in Rev. Jim's signature and am very interested! I may have overlooked this on the initial post, but is this like an annual event or something like that or can I join whenever? Either way I am interested, and who could not resist a FREE Bible study!? Do any of the other Reverends join and guide in the Bible study? (Perhaps as guest speakers?)

Also, sister LittleMissV, you tell them! It's pleasing to hear such a success that came out of the Bible study.
