BelieverInGod I think that True Disciple is on to something. Your husband could be possessed by demons. Sometimes those who are possessed do strange things like fall down a well, I have even heard of them shooting themselves in the back. Maybe you should have him checked out before HE does something to harm himself.

This is an excellent point, Brother James. Possessed people are known to do all sorts of things to inflict harm upon themselves. Reminds me of a man in North Salem.

Joe had a reputation as a flirt. All the ladies liked him, he was so friendly and handsome. Turns out he was actually attempting to seduce the wives of other men!

He was immediately thrown out of my congregation and his name removed from the rolls, but in his sex-demon-possessed state, he continued pestering the ladies.

Except he's correcting me for things that I don't understand, or have no control over it. Going on dog training, you teach the dog something and only correct after they fully understand what you ask. What's the use of correcting someone/thing if they don't understand what they're being corrected for?

He's not at home right now, he's on the road. I made sure the cats had lots of food when I was over there yesterday, the dogs are at a friends, and we're crammed into this little apartment with my brother.

Why do I feel like the world is against me, if I leave I'll be in abject poverty, if I stay, nothing will change. These drugs sure make me tired.

As a mere woman, many things confuse you. That is one of the reasons there are men, to be around to figure things out and give you direction. Your first mistake is trying to come up with your own ideas, doing what you want. It is not all about you. It is about your Husband and your Sons.
When training a dog, if they fail to follow a command, they get corrected. They have nearly no minds and cannot ever understand. But they learn to not do the wrong thing. Take away all the wrong things and you are left with only the right things.
You need to do what your Husband says, do not question Him. Be glad He shows interest in you. Again, if He did not care, He would not spend the time on you. I am sure it pains Him more than it pains you to correct you. You need to see how you make Him suffer for your selfishness.

Brother, even a dog has to know what it did wrong when you correct it, or else the correction is useless. Am I so wrong to ask to be treated at least as well as a dog?

You are correct Brother, I was thinking more along the lines of in public. Such as with neighbours or myself. Of course I don't know what he's doing when he's on the road. Maybe he has a "girlfriend" in every town.

Well Sister, you seem to enjoy being disciplined as you actually beg your husband on a fairly regular basis for it. Somehow I don't find torn muscles (my shoulder still hurts) and bruises so enjoyable.

I'm going back to the counsellor today as well. I'm having a crisis of faith as well.

you're showing signs of common sense there's a difrence in diciplining and beating up. smacking would qualify as diciplining. hearing your injury you've been beaten up for real. i think you havent deserved that in the slightest.

BIG, I like, my wife likes you. But you need to step back for a minute. Who is the man, who is the woman?
Look at it this way. God is above us all. He tells us what to do, we are not to question Him. If we do, we can expect repercussions. We do as He tells us. We do not disagree or only follow part of what He demands. The people that do are wishy washy Sunday only salad bar Christians. We are True Christan's(tm). We follow His every word, every second of every day of every week of every year, without falter or deviation. I am sure you agree with me on this.
Now, God is the head honcho. God manages your Husband. Your Husband manages you and his sons. You manage your daughters. Therefore, you Husband is only doing Gods bidding. You do not want him to go against God's wishes, do you?
I am sorry you have some discomfort. I am sure it pained your Husband as well, having to correct you. So do not be so selfish. Think about how your Husband feels and more importantly, how God feels. I suspect he is fairly sad over the whole sordid matter.
I think it would be in your best interst to spring clean the house, and bake a few pies. Show everyone you have learned your lessons. It is important you put on a smile and show the world the perfect life you are living.

Yeah you may follow his every word. And I understand the beating in a way to maybe teach a lesson (though I do not beat my own wife). But there is a line in how physical you can get with your woman. And all this crap about it's all her fault is just plain wrong.

I agree. The husband probably also shares a very small bit of the blame. It's unfortunate she does not have a male relative who can talk some sense into her husband on her behalf. The husband of one of my daughters was not treating her right and after I politely discussed that matter with him during a hunting party he started treating her a lot better.
