  • Is it right ?.

I'm not sure where to ask this. So please forgive me if it's in the wrong place. I have been introduced to a fine Christian Gentleman, through our Church. We have been taking part in Bible study with both of our families. Everything was going fine till last Thursday, While walking with my fellow in his local woodland, I fell and hurt my leg. My question is this. Was it the right thing for him to belt me for falling down?.He slapped me straight away, for being clumsy in the eyes of the Lord. He also has insisted on inspecting my cleaning skills. He stands over me while I scrub his floors, while I'm on my knees he slaps my backside if I am not fast enough, or miss a spot. Is this a good thing?. Is it right for him to do this?. I am so fond of him, that I say I'm sorry and beg his forgiveness. Please can someone advise me as I don't want The Lord nor my Gentleman to think I'm lazy.

Regarding the cleaning skills yes, but as for slapping you for being clumbsy? What verse does he claim to use, in order to back that action up?

He says that my head is always dreaming and that I should be concentrating on God and him. Which gives him the right to wallop me if I fail. You see thats why I'm confused. And I make him the sweetest pies which he likes. I am trying so very hard to please him, but he flies at me if I put a foot wrong. Maybe it's because he's much older and wiser than I am. I am not questioning him, just whether other girls go through the same thing.

If your pies are sweet, perhaps there is something wrong with him! No appreciation of a good pie sounds like a sin to me.

Sister, I understand your concerns, a lot of women often struggle with issues like these.

First of all, here is a useful thread to read, where Sister BelieverInGod's questions about her husband hitting her are answered by me and my True Christian™ Brothers.

I think you need to remember what God's Word teaches:

          Ephesians 5:25-27:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

You see, your husband is obliged to hit you if you fail to clean your his house, whether he likes it or not. This is because it is a disgrace for a good True Christian™ Housewife to fail in her womanly duties, and Jesus is deeply saddened by such a thing.

Therefore, this Passage outlines the obligation of the husband to "sanctify and cleanse" you, in any way necessary, to make sure you are "holy and without blemish." So, it is out of True Christian Love™ towards both Jesus and you that your Godly Husband hits you. If he wouldn't do that, it would mean that he wouldn't love you, which would be a violation of Ephesians 5:25.

Finally, you should realize that when your husband hits you, you are not the victim, he is. It is really exhausting for him to keep such a close eye on you all day long, and he makes a huge sacrifice in doing so. Be thankful for that. After all, it is your behavior that makes this close watch over what you're doing necessary, so if anyone would be a victim here, it would be your husband.

I hope I have answered your concerns with this, Sister.
          Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
          Praised be Your Glorious Name™.

          Amen.
