I've been meanin' to tell you, Brother James; yesterday I baked the most beautiful cherry pie you ever wanted to see. And it was delicious as you could ever imagine!
“…If however the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death..." Deuteronomy 22:13-21

Isnt 17 a bit too young? after all, women are still developing fertility at that age. 19 or 20 year olds have a more developed reproduction system and i'm sure thats what your looking for.
Rom. 16:17: Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

If I had girls I would start looking for a husband when they turned 14, it's the legal age for them to marry here with their parents permission. The younger a girl marries, the easier it is for her to take on the proper roll as a Christian wife. As for bearing children, I think the number of unwed teenage mothers out there proves you very wrong.

I think the boys should be at least 18 as they have to be more mature to be heads of the household. Probably even older as they need to be capable of providing for their family.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Brother Campbell, you are quite (naturally ) correct. There is nothing to prevent a recently matured (I mean cursed with menstrual periods) young woman from bearing a child. (To a True Christian husband,of course!)

Some health care "experts" believe it is not be recommended because girls of 12 or 14 or so are still growing and the pregancy could adversely effect this.

This is so much foolishness. Human beings actually reach full skeletal maturity ( that's when the bones finish growing and filling out ) around age 25. That's a waste of at least 10 years of reproductive potential for popping out soldiers for Christ! And what's a girl to do in those 10 years anyway? Read? Get an education and learn to support herself?

Nope, the younger the better. Betrothal arranged by the parents before the children start coming into heat is best. Nevermind whether the two youngsters "like" each other.

Marriage is not about "liking" and enjoying each other's company and certainly not about being physically attracted to each other and having sex for the fun of it!

Marriage is about committment and being a living example of Christ's realtionship with His church.

Sex is for making babies with the Lord in mind.

A married person might engage in sex with their partner to spare the other person from committing sin, but a squirt of cold water from a garden hose and some shouting out scripture would take care of that just as well.

            Wholeheartedly Yours,

            Handmaiden

I don't think 17 is too young, 14 or 15 is a bit young for a man of my age. I don't want people to think that I am a pervert or a cradle robber.

i actually went to a school full of teen mothers and i found that a lot of them had trouble conceiving after their first child. i didn't know this, though, until i entered my psychology of women class durning my first year of college. not only did i study the psychology of women, but i also studied the physiology as well. and 14 is incredibly young. perhaps its because i grew up in california were the laws of marriage are stricter.

                    It is, is it?

According to California law you can marry a child as soon as it comes out of the womb as long as you have the parents and the courts permission.

So don't act so high and mighty, at least here they have to be of child bearing age. Of course California's law was probably changed so that mooslimbs can follow in the footsteps of their master and marry 9-year-olds.

why not get an education? i would love to have a few sons some day and i would feel like i wouldn't contribute anything to them. i dont plan to be a stay at home mother, but if i turned out to do so i would like to home school my children and teach them everything from engineering physics to calculus. i feel that by setting a good example for my children, they would serve as better solders for god. i imagine my children going to school to get the best education possible and being great leaders. god gave me a great mind and i want my children to have the same if not better.

Hey, cooking and cleaning IS work! Don't make me form an unholy alliance
between the conservatives and the feminists.

People who value the sanctity of the traditional family acknowlege the crucial effort women contribute to "making a home" for their husbands and children. And feminists with their crazy ideas about women being people insist that the work of keeping house has economic value close to $100,000 a year.

You are a wealth of information. Now that we have the technology to learn the sex of a child prior to its birth, pre-natal arrangements can be made.

Young people make so many idiot choices about relationships. And even young adults marry foolishly more often than not. This concept couldn't make anything worse and it could save society a lot of time and trouble.
