Same here, Lissy. That's the main policy I think people are praying will fail!

Just think: $3.27 trillion dollars is the final price tag on the Spendulus package, and it won't do much of anything to create jobs until 2010 or 2011 since most of the projects it's funding are major infrastructure . . . which have yet to be designed!

We're fast approaching 10% unemployment, Lissy. People are losing their jobs already.

I think the point is that Obama is working day and night to socialize banks and corporations, turning us into a socialist nation.

Either way, there will be a depression. However, Obama's approach will leave us socialist when we come out the other end of the tunnel . . . into the path of the oncoming Global Warming Train.

We agree. It's better to deal with this depression the old fashioned way - wait until it fixes itself (that will probably happen before you're 60) or solve it like the first great depression was solved - by going to war with Germany and Japan. You'll still have to pay for that war until you're 60, but so will the Germans and Japanese, so at least we'll be even.

Exactly. The proper way to deal with America's debt is with bank bailouts, starting wars and occupations, and tax cuts for millionaires.

Of course it does - while on one hand people will come to you for treatment that they otherwise could not afford, on the other hand people will be able to get preventative treatment. A stitch in time saves nine, which stinks if you're the one being paid to do the stiching!

I thought that was one of the problems of the current un-American system;any old dead beat can walk into an emergency room get treatment for any old thing just because they have the lame excuse it is life threatening and then stiff the tax payer for the bill because he is too lazy to get job? They should make these people pay first like the free market demands. No one would sell you a couch without getting money from you first.

Also, I understand you father is a steel mill worker. That means he is a union man so you see this socialist caused Obama depression has a bright side that all the lazy, over paid union workers are losing their jobs.

Ew! Girl, is your collage going to be paid for with union money? That's outright exploitation, profiting from an employer's sweat and toil. Demand that your father take that blood money and send it back to the person who actually created the wealth - his boss!

Honestly, your politics made sense until now - you want to be a doctor, and because doctors make the $224/hour or more required to be a member of the richest 1%, that makes you a republican.

You come from a fine tradition - 20% of the American population believes they will be among the richest 1% one day, 19% believe that already are. (Time Magazine poll, 2000)

But it all falls apart when one considers that this future $224/hour job of yours will come from unearned union loot. That's living on the arrears of crime, girl. I don't care how hard you study, that university education belongs to the child of a steel mill owner - not you! Give it back!

My father was never in the union. He just recently quit his job over at Lear, making car seats, to join Mittal. He never got in the union, because it takes about 6 months I think. He got layed off after maybe 5 months of working there?

If everyone in the country were the same, we would all get paid the same, due to the godly, distortion-free miracle of free markets. Now take a look at this chart: while America has been getting more virtuous (see rising GDP) the middle class (their value measured in "Median income") has not improved a bit.



CEOs have been working harder then ever, while the middle class rests on their laurels. And yet Obama wants to lower taxes for them - the laziest 95% of America's population - with the tax cuts being paid for by the hardest working 5%!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR THE WEALTHIEST 1%, IT DOESN'T WORK!

Actually, that's how it works now.

With "socialized medicine", anyone would be able to get in to see a doctor when a problem is small, or go to an urgent care clinic, leaving the emergency room free for those who have real emergencies.

Does that mean lower income?

It means you'd be working for a fixed, Government-set wage, instead of what the free market allows you to charge.

While supposedly that makes medical care more affordable for all, it also means that the only people going into medicine would be those who want to "help people", instead of become wealthy.

It would substantially reduce the motivation to enter the field, leading to doctor shortages. Some places already have nurse shortages.

I'd rather have Mccain.

I don't see why people are making such a big deal about this. After all, Christians everywhere are praying for the events of the Book of Revelation to come soon.

These events make a second great depression, more terrorist attacks, or the collapse of industrialism seem like a small deal:

• Horse-like locusts with human heads, women's hair, lion's teeth, and scorpion's tails sting people, torturing them for for five months. 9:7-10
• Four angels, with an army of 200 million, kill a third of the earth's population. 9:15-19
• "The great winepress of the wrath of God ... was trodden ... and the blood came ... even unto the horses bridles." 14:19-20
• The seven vials of wrath: 1) sores, 2) sea turned to blood, 3) rivers turned to blood, 4) people scorched with fire, 5) people gnaw their tongues in pain, 6) Euphrates dries up, 7) thunder, lightening, earthquake, and hail. 16:1-21
• Non-Christians will be cast into the lake of fire. 20:15

And people are freaking about because we're praying for a mere depression?
