Prayer does nothing. You're talking to yourself. There is no god for you to pray to.

Ever heard of "The Great Prayer Experiment"? There were three groups of people with cardiactric ('heart' for those mentally challenged ie christians) problems. The first group were prayed for and didn't know it, the second group weren't prayed for and didn't know it, and the third group were prayed for and were fully aware. The congregations of two churches prayed for the assigned group (recieved first name and first initial of surname). The prayed for a successful surgery and a complication-free recovery.

How were the results? The first two groups' results were exactly the same. And if that isn't a hard enough kick to the stomach, the third group's recovery was awful- nestled with complications. Was god doing a bit of smiting for the heck of it? No (there is no god). Those holding the experiment put it down to "performance anxiety". Many religious scientists disowned the experiment.

If you pray for rain long enough, it eventually does fall. If you pray for floodwaters to abate, they eventually do. The same happens in the absence of prayers.

Concerning this prayer experiment thing you is talking about... assuming you is telling the truth (which I have no reason to believe that you is, since you is a shameless atheist who has no moral obligation to God, truth, and decency!!), it do not prove a thing, because there is no reason to believe that the folk involved in this experiment was True Christians™. If you is not SAVED when you prays to the LORD, you might as well be prayin' to a duck (as pagans is known to do). The Lord do not recognizes the prayers of the unsaved. I know it's going to be hard to do because you is so ignant, but you needs to repent yo sins and accept Jesus into yo heart.

We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.
