It has come to my attention that some horrible people are tying to link me with the UCC. To wit:
The entie web page may be found here:

Fourth. As to your startling admission that the United Church of Christ (in your role here you represent the church) is in fact opposed to both diversity and freedom of speech within the UCC you say this: “UCCTruths is not on the blog roll for many reasons. The first and most obvious is that they do not like the UCC. For most of their existence they ran a disclaimer stating how they were proud not to be part of the UCC. Blogs that are on our blog roll ought to at least like the church they’re part of. There are plenty of blogs listed that question the UCC from time to time. That’s certainly fair. Open dialogue about our ministries is appropriate. Disinformation and personal attacks, the hallmark of UCCtruths, just isn’t appropriate.” The real problem with UCC Truths is that it has become, thanks to the estimable energies of James Hutchins, a very lively gathering place for UCC dissenters. To even imply that Hutchins and the site’s many fans don’t love their church because they dissent from its political operations is, well, shameful. To twist the disclaimer that the site is not an official UCC site into an indication the site and its UCC fans hate their own church is obviously untrue. You, good Reverend Chuck, are busy out there in Portland leading an anti-war rally. Does this mean you are anti-American? Does this mean you are not proud to be an American? Should President Bush attack you or, say, ban the New York Times because it is critical of the administration? Put simply, Chuck, the problem is that you and the church hierarchy (led by a president who refers to those of us who criticize the church as “serpents in our midst”) can dish it out but you can’t take it.
