So you cherry-pick what rules to follow in life as well. Is there anything you don't cherry-pick?

Perhaps, because if their father is beating them senselessm then they must not have a rather good life. You home school your kids? How do they make friends? Live a normal life?

They play sports, go to church and are in 4H. We just don't want them to be hanging around fags, mooslimbs or people like you.

Yes I would, it would show disrespect for me as the head of the household and for Jesus. She should cook and clean and raise the children as if Jesus himself was about to walk through the door.

Would you rather see my children in poverty? She decided that it was better to stay at home where she has a comfortable roof over her head and a warm clean bed rather than face poverty of taking a minimum wage job, trusting our children to socialist schools and trying to keep them healthy in some rat/roach/flea infested hovel which would be all she could afford.

And if she ever took a swing at me it would be the last thing she did for quite a while. She knows her place.

Trainable? You disgust me. Women are not meant to be 'trained'. It's ashame she was convinced to stay with you, if you abuse her and hurt her. Again, there's something wrong with this cult of archaic people. I'm just posting my own opinion, and I believe it is incredibly wrong to physically or emotionally harm another one intentionally.

Yes, I correct her when she's wrong. Some busy body convinced her to leave me last month, fortunately the good people on this board talked some sense into her.

I told you, she's strong headed. I made the mistake of waiting to marry and not marrying a younger more trainable wife. So yes, there has been a fair amount of correction through the years.

Women are like children, if you spare the rod they become spoiled.

I follow and love God, but if anyone were to hit me, there is no way I would happily accept it and go on. I would say something, and stand up for myself. Sure, a woman should look after her husband, but a husband should look after his wife, and never ever harm her.

According to the Bible, women are our property. We buy them from their fathers and they are to cook and clean and birth/raise soldiers for Christ.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Proverbs 31 gives us a list of what we are to look for in a good woman.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

I don't understand why there's even a debate about this.

Technically, God could be tried in absentee...and it would be a pretty quick conviction, if it wasn't for the problem that the bible wouldn't be accepted as evidence in any court; fairy tales generally aren't.

Then according to your logic God Himself should be tried and convicted. Proverbs 13:24 "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."
