In reference to the original post, here are my thoughts:

1st - It is a usurpation of a man's authority to discipline any of his family members. What you ought to have done is make your complaint known to the girl's father and let him deal with it.

2nd - Since when is it a sin to burn a steak? If you are going to physically correct a woman, it should be over a point of continual sin or rebellion.

3rd - To "beat" a woman is never okay. You should not be leaving permanent or obvious damage. The Lord tells us to honor and cherish our wives, loving them as Christ loved the church, more than our own bodies. I wouldn't break my own arm or punch myself in the eye, neither would I do it to my wife. However, as a boy, I was spanked plenty. If you are going to physically correct your wive, do it on the posterior, and NEVER in anger or out of control. How will a woman respect you if you abuse her? It's the same with a child. Children respect loving correction, they rebel against abuse.

These are my thoughts on the matter. I have tried to treat the original poster with respect. I hope I will receive the same. Thank you.

Hi Friend, seems like you are a young fella with all kinds of silly idealism in your eyes. Let me set you straight.

1) Once a woman is engaged to be married, the reins of control begin to pass from father to future husband. The man is expected to take some responsibility but should explain to the father all issues that have occurred during a date. The chaperon will verify this.

2) Do you want a meal ruined because a empty headed woman was not paying attention? Admittedly, operating a grill might be too much to expect from a mere woman but if she has pleaded to try to use a grill, she must know failure is not an option. If she thinks she needs to practice, have her grill some of her old shoes or perhaps the helps lunch. Failure is never acceptable. Give her an inch, she'll want two. Keep the leash short.

3) You are never beating a woman. You are correcting bad behavior. A woman has a small mind. It has a limited vocabulary and attention span. If you reduce the amount of confusion in her life, you are doing her a great service.

Most woman can do up to four things. If you have higher expectations, expect more errors. Personally, I work hard every day and do not have the energy to of taught her more than four.

That verse is about being dishonest with your wife. Since when does "dealing treacherously" mean discipline?

Isnt the bible a book that has abiguity written into the pages, It means something different to everyone ho reads it. I read and thought meh it was an ok story and its credability is farcical. Friends, I come here asking your advice in a spirit of Christ-like humility. I feat that, in the last few days, I may have grievously sinned against the Lord and male property rights, and my soul is troubled.
Recently, I've been spending a lot of time unchaperoned with a certain young lady. Of course, we haven't actually indulged in any lustful or lascivious acts together (thank you Jesus), but only those activities which it is proper for a young man and woman to perform together: sitting around while she scrubs my floors, washes my clothes, polishes my Bible, and so on. However, a few days ago, she burnt my steak, and in response...well, I behaved as any passionate red-blooded heterosexual man would do.
My question is: have I gone too far too fast? I know that the sacred responsibility of disciplining a woman is one of the most vital aspects of the Godly Institution of Matrimony, and to engage in this very special act with a woman I'm not actually married to just feels...wrong, really. As an unmarried woman, the young lady I beat senseless is still the property of her father, and to have damaged another Christian man's property...well, it doesn't feel good, I tell you that. So, friends, tell me honestly: by giving a black eye to a woman who doesn't belong to me, have I offended God?

I feel like I must give my two cents here even though this is quite an old post. I think you were well within your rights to beat this woman. First off, she ruined her man's food. But she also ruined a steak, which comes from a cow, which is one of God's creatures. God was kind enough to provide us with cows for steak, and I know he would be furious at her for improperly cooking this gift. That said, I feel you should never beat a woman senseless. Here is why- when you beat her senseless you run the risk of her not remembering why she was beaten and thus you may not have corrected the bad behavior. It is always best to leave a woman with her senses after a beating so she can realize why she deserved it. I also recommend not beating their faces too badly, but that's just for aesthetics.
