Urban dictionary is nothing but a conglomeration of atheists. As such it cannot be trusted. "Fapping" was clearly a childish attempt to embarrass the sweet and courageous Ellen Fapper, who Brother Helge had already introduced into this thread.

Actually teenagers around here have used that term for masturbation, plenty of times just to fool around, and no matter who says thats not what it means it is, its slang used by teenagers.

if you want to know the modern meaning of "Fap" which most likley the way it was used in the chat room you were in, you should check the urban dictionary that is availible online, it clearly says that it is an onomatopoeic word for masturbate.

A slang term is FOR something else, not TO something else.

It's spelled "masturbate".

"Hence" is not used that way. The name is from the noise it makes, the noise it makes is NOT from the name. Here's a new word for you to learn today: onomatopoeia. No, it's not a dirty word. Look it up.

Sentences end with a period, question mark, or exclamation point.

So, to recap: your post should have looked like this:

"I have heard this word before from my children; it is a slang term for 'masturbate', from the noise one makes while masturbating".

I saw this word in a chat room about Sarah Palin. I know FAQ is frequently asked questions, but this was being used as a verb and an adjective, She's fappable.
It's strange. I can't figure this out.
