i completely agree with everything you said, Woman should not be disgraced in this messed up world. They should in fact be thanked for everything they do for the world. You are all quoting the old testament. The new testament has more recent information about how woman should be treated. so any of you a*****e men who think you rule the world, newsflash you don't. so instead of beating your women and children you should tell them you love them and if you cant do that then let them go let them live a fuller life and a better life with out you.

But you see, beating your wife or Son is telling them you love them, only you are using your fists instead of words. Atheists or catholics never seem to get this!

It's basically saying "wife, I love you so much that I want you to enter into the arms of The Lord, which is the best thing I could possibly want for you" as you pop her one in the eye.

I have just converted, praise the Lord! I have having troubles though having my wife accept and learn to love my beatings when she is out of line. She actually called the police on me when I hit her for her becoming out of hand when I burned her slut clothes.

What is the best way to make my wife see the light and accept her punishments?

God disagrees with you (not surprisingly):
Proverbs 13:24: He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

God commands us to discipline using a rod. What is your idea of discipline if it isn't physical? Grounding the kid? Grounding doesn't change anything but a few swats with a paddle teaches a kid real quick to straighten up and fly right.

We follow God's Word, the Holy KJV Bible, to the letter. You apparently don't like this but it doesn't matter what you like, what matters is what God likes and He likes people to obey His Word completely.

Is the bible not meant to be read and followed contextually and not literally? The rod in that quote could be a metaphor for many different things such as disciplining with words. If you honestly think God meant for the father and husbands to correct their wives and children through beatings, then you yourselves are ignorant of his teachings.

His words aren't meant to be taken literally, otherwise the entire world would be in chaotic ruin with communities such as this trying to beat and strike each person they think are tainted and needs to be disciplined and claim that it is God's will. You should all start taking His teachings contextually, God would never promote violence you coat as discipline.

For those of you who beat their wives in front of their children and those who strike down your children, once they're old enough, they will fight back with their own strength. I have seen this happen and it was not a pretty sight.
