America is made up like people like my family; people who had the sense to realize the old country was filled with goat botherers living in dirt floor huts and killing each other over some rock filled farm.

I happen to be a decendant from the original settlers in Pennsylvania, and my family has been in America since the first few ships that came here. I also happen to know that America originally was not made up of people who were fed up of "goat botherers." The people that settled in America did so to either escape religous persecution, because they were poor, or because they wanted a start fresh. I highly doubt people like your family would survive a single day in America at its start. America was made up from people who believed that their original countries were not listening to them. They wanted to change that and thus created a Democracy, in which they wanted ALL religions, ALL sexual orientations, and ALL people to share in rights. MOST of the drafters of the constitution believed in equality of man, regardless of race/sex/classifications, however they also were smart enough to understand that it was not yet the time for putting aside such things as race, sex, etc, and so they PURPOSLY worded the constitution to be vague, so that later on it could be interpreted by people of later generations so that its rights could be included to all.

Yes, the News reports paint a picture of a boy who had been spending increasing amounts of time playing the violent Video game ‘Counter Strike’.

It appears that 17 year old Tim Kretschmer was obsessed with the so-called game ‘Counter-Strike’, to the point where he was unable to differentiate between his real life, and fantasy World he lived in the game. He probably thought he was still playing the game when he killed all those innocent children.

For those who do not know, ‘Counter Strike’ is an ultra-violent video Game where you go around shooting anyone you like. In the ‘alternative reality’ of Counter Strike, you can even pretend to be a Terrorist member of the Al Qaeda, and go out on a killing spree, murdering Godly American Soldiers. Shocking!

When these kids could be in Church learning all about God's love, reading the Bible, or spending their time with Jesus, they are instead playing these violent Anti-Christian games, and being brainwashed into wanting to Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill their parents, Kill their classmates, Kill themselves. That's the kind of trash these games brainwash children into thinking.

Counter-Strike is also the ‘School Massacre Simulator’ Seung-Hui Cho, the perpetrator of the Virginia Tech Massacre, trained on in High School.

See, it's like I've been saying all along - These video games turn good normal healthy kids who get good grades and have normal lives, into psychopathic mass-murdering game-geek psychopaths. The sooner we get this game banned, the better!

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm a 13 year old boy from the South of England, I happened to come accross this forum and I signed up just to post this..

I cant believe someone could be so ignorant, I am not religious myself, but I would not go as far to say I am Atheist, I often play violent video games ( Grand theft auto, gears of war, Assassins Creed), I am also a fan of heavy metal, death metal and rock, although my taste in music is very varied, if what you are saying is true, then instead of typing this out I should be out gunning down whoever I see; there are millions of teenagers the same age as the boy who went on this 'killing spree', yet this one case causes you to beleive that this is a brainwashing game causing children to violent for no apparant reason.

Your source of this story is a news report, probably written by a reporter that knows next to nothing about this boy, knows nothing of his upbringing, and knows nothing of his life, therefore he has just one conclusing, the boy is simply mental, ow I'm not going to comment anymore on that because I'm intelligent enough to know not to comment on things you know nothing about, so lets leave that there.

Now as for the bit about him not being a goth, this is thing I hate about Christians, notice I didn't say christianity, but christians. You are so close minded! You are just as bad as school bullys, everyday I am verbally taunted by people who dont like me because I am 'differant', they stereotype me as an 'emo', someone who is considered to cut themselves, is depressed and listens to heavy metal/emo music, emo is a type of music though, 'emotional rock', simply meaning music with more of an emotional theme to it, often singing about life issues, 'emo' is also just a shortened version of emotional, meaning happy, sad, any kind of emotions, so why so isn't everyone an 'emo', can you not see what you are doing by thinking that this could be caused by this boy being a goth? The problem with you is that you have no sense of individuality, maybe you should be the one getting verbally abused for being the same as everyone? Think about it..

Now how could you think a simple game, no matter how violent it is could possibly trigger a teenager into 'losing it', to be as obsessed with a game as he was reported to be obviously means he spent all his free time on it, to do this you must be lacking a social life, and obviously his parents didn't care much about him, to allow him to spend his life on a videogame, obviously drifting away from everything; the obvious reason for this attack is that this boy is that he had next to no contact with people his age, he was a very quiet boy, so he did not interact much, so when he got home from school he would've obviously gone straight on that videogame, with no care from his parents, to have no emotional support like it is clear he has not, is a very mind triggering thing, possibly causing him to just lose all sense.

Now the problem with judging people like you and I both have from news reports is that the people reading the news report normally know nothing about these 'cultures' that have apparently caused the attacker to do these things.
Take the case of the boy who went on a killing spree in Africa, the band Slipknot (who I am a big fan off, yet im not mental?) were blamed for it, why? Simply because he listened to their music and owned what appeared to be a replica Slipknot mask; but the reporter had this all wrong, this was not a replica mask of Joey Jordison (Slipknots drummer), this was a kabuki mask, which is similar to Joeys mask, a mask that is worn to show no emotion, and now because of that reporters lack of knowledge caused Millions of people to misunderstand Slipknots music, who are considered to be an 'anti-religious band', which is waaay of the mark, here is a quote from there song 'All Hope Is Gone',

1] The young man could definitely distinguish between real and fantasy.
2] You cant pretend to just be a terrorist al qaeda member and go on killing american soldiers.

4a] I have been playing CS since its release in 1999 to the public as a mod for the popular game Half-Life.
4b] Oddly, i have not killed anyone yet in real life, and i do not go to church, i do not read the bible and yet somehow, i still have morals and standards as to how i live my life.
4c] In fact, my game of choice is a first person shooter, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 4, Far Cry 2, FEAR2, America's Army, etc.

7] In addition, i had a 3.8 GPA / 4.0 in my school, an aspiring student, honor roll. I had lots of friends, i had scholarships and i have had a college education. I brought this post back from the dead to clearly point out to all you christians that sadly, there is a rather large movement of christian gamers at hand, that let their children play these such games as well, and they have no trouble or problem with life.

I was wrote a series of articles years ago regarding television and its impact on teen violence, lower education scores and depression. It was not good and based on years of solid peered reviewed clinical evidence.

When we do not go forth and mingle, actually be with other people and have human contact and lots of it, we sink into a pit. The longer you sit on that chair and interact with nothing but pixels on a screen the worse society will become.

Are we headed to a world where contact with the living is not longer important? Are we destined to be educated, entertained and obtain all information, faith and understanding through the electronic isolation of cyberspace?

I doubt this is what God intended for His creation.

I've noticed that with all these people who are in denial about video games causing an increase in sex, violence, and crime in society, they all seem to make the same illogical argument over and over: "Well I've played the game and I didn't go out and kill anybody."

Let's examine this argument closely and you will see it's patently false. They think that simply because they themselves haven't killed anybody, that everybody else is just like them, and won't kill anybody as well. Of course, not EVERYBODY playing video games is going to go out and kill, that's not what we are arguing. However, there are suspectible angst-ridden teens on the edge who just need a little shove before they are in the arms of Satan, and violent video games like Counter-Strike provide that little nudge.

Let's take this baseless argument and apply it to other circumstances:

• "Well, I've driven drunk before and didn't crash, therefore drunk driving doesn't cause any crashes."
• "Well, I've swam in the ocean before and didn't get attacked by a shark, therefore sharks don't attack people."
• "Well, I've been shot before and I survived, therefore guns can't kill people."

Etc. Etc. Etc.

So you can plainly see that commonly repeated cry of: "Well I played this game and I never killed anybody" is just a futile and last-ditch attempt at a defense for the Satanic video game apologists. It's time to wake up and accept reality -- Video Games cause murders.
