Although that smelled suspiciously like a copy/paste from wikipedia, I don't understand what it has to do with the meaning of the symbol now. Lots of marking have changed meanings over the years, lots of words have as well. My father (80+) uses the terms high and drunk interchangeably because in his day they meant the same thing.

So now Lamba is a gay symbol, they've done the same things with rainbows and the word gay itself.

In the first picture, the so called s&m masks are actually balaclava masks.

Balaclavas are also worn in summer by people working in forest, like mapmakers and tree planters to protect them from flies and mosquitoes. The United States Marine Corps has recently begun issuing balaclavas with hinged face guards as part of the Flame Resistant Organizational Gear program.


So let me get this straight.
