I hate the Bloody Mess perk. I used to laugh when I blew people's legs off in the game and watch them stumble around like ragdolls, but ever since I've got the Bloody Mess perk, they just explode into a red mist. Where's the fun in that?

Perhaps not. But it does increase the chance that you will do it. So video games are bad for people for that reason. Just like smoking increases the chances you will die of cancer. Even though not everyone immediately drops dead when they smoke their first cigarette, by now almost everyone agrees it is very bad for you. The same applies to video games but unfortunately a lot of people, you included, are still on denial for that.

jane....( my new name for you James) i must admit i made an error in that post. i have handleld a gun. once or twice and i dealt with it very well. i can shoot a target and i know how to safetly disarm the gun.

Now michele, this is not the first time you have lied to us. I have to admit, I am getting a little tired of the lies and half truths. Facts are not something you can create out of thin air.

Playing these video games, reading a book and thinking you know all about guns are the first steps to a psychotic rampage. I see it in the news all the time. Nut job murdering is just like other devious behavior. A kid has a beer, big deal. Eventually, he is drinking the hard stuff and he moves on to mary jane. Next thing he is shooting heroin and raping old ladies. You know perfectly well of the progression I am speaking. Kid start off with a innocent (or so they think) Mario game. They move on to the games like Fallout. Next, to keep that 'rush' alive, they have to migrate to the real thing. You have not shot people, possibly true, but you have to know, you need to end that sentence with 'yet'. It is only a matter of time.

i have never used a gun yet i know how to handle one.
i didnt get this experience from playing games i got it from reading books. i could handle a gun safely and responsibly

I see what you’re saying that I don’t have a PhD. I don’t. But I have done research into it myself at university using research from respected psychologists and have seen the results myself. They do not PROVE that games have an affect on violence. They say that people who are already pre-disposed to violence COULD be affected by games but people who have no history of violence or mental illness are not affected as they KNOW its fantasy not real.

The thing with psychology is (seeing as you obviously know so much about It. do you have a PhD? I think not) it is a cross section looking at a few variables. Its ok to say 20 people who were tested IN A LAB showed increased aggression IN THE LAB. These people however did not carry the aggression to every day life.
The fact is more than 3 billion people play violent video games. If 3 billion people play violent video games then why there aren’t 3 billion more violent crimes than what are already registered?

You know violent acts have actually decreased with violent video game releases? Oh wait that bit of research you conveniently forgot
