Hello, Reverend, I would like to point out a couple inaccuracies in your post. I apologize for quoting this post from a while ago, but I have only recently been shown this site.

You said that Bethesda quoted Revelations 21:6 out of context - not true. They did not turn this into anything about water purification. The passage is blatantly stated near the beginning of the game to be the favorite Bible passage of the mother of your in-game character, not anything to do with the water purification in the game. The only connection it has is that near the end of the game's main storyline you must input the numbers 216 to activate a water purification system. Those particular numbers were chosen as the password because your character's father created this water purification device; he merely wanted to memorialize the player character's mother, who died giving birth to the player character at the beginning of the game.

You also say that Catholics worship Mary - this is also not true. They merely acknowledge here as the mother of Jesus Christ, our savior.

I do not wish to disrespect you, Reverend, but those were a couple inaccuracies that were bugging me as I read through this thread.

I do too. I love innuendo
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

        Revelation 21:6 (King James Version)

          *her

Also, you said that buying rated Mature games is illegal. This is also untrue in most cases. Those ratings are by an independent company - the ESRB - and are not law in many places. A few legislations have adopted them as law, and most retailers that sell video games have a rule in their store to not sell Mature rated video games to people under 17, the age recommended by the ESRB.

Of course passion is good, but when it becomes too much, it leads to zealotry. Guess what that ends up to meaning? Wars in the name of God, that's what.

You have a problem with censorship?? Everything is censored (outside of 4chan). Get used to it. Even I have to censor myself so that I don't write to you how I really feel about you, otherwise I might get banned from this forum.

By holy wars you mean the Crusades? Those were not done by Christians, they were done by Catholics. If you want to use the Crusades as an example of how blood-thirsty of a cult the Roman church is, then I will agree with you on that. Also, Camrean, read the link in the original post about how Catholics are not Christians. That should clear up any questions you may have about that.

Whoops, forgot my response. Zealotry is bad. Passion is not. Zealotry is what leads us to war, violence, and pain! After all, that's how the holy wars started, and that's how censorship starts. Once you start seeing everything that does not agree with Christianity (or whatever religion you believe in!), you begin to believe it as blasphemic instead of listening and trying to understand.

Never heard of the Northern Crusades, started by Christians that converted pagans forcibly, and clashed with the Catholics?

Not everything is censored, but you're talking about trying to ban a form of art here. And that is something I'm against, whether it be violent or not.

Rev., there is a word for people like this, not gamer but one that covers a broad spectrum of overly enthusiastic people. People with a one focus life. One goal in mind. I know the word, it is on the tip of my tongue.......
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

You're right, it is... to the religion itself. You'll ignore anything that doesn't agree with it, whether it's good, bad, or just unaligned. Much like how you've ignored the ability to help people in Fallout 3.

True, but my point still stands. Crusades are held when zealotry and fanaticism becomes too great!

It's defined as art by the United States of America, if you didn't know. That's why it's protected by the First Amendment! It's as much art as a fictional novel or a movie is.

4chan is censored, any illegal activities or hate speeches are removed when moderators see them. Censorship of opinions however, should not be censored anywhere, as everyone has their own opinions, and no opinions are wrong factually, but they can be wrong morally. The only opinions that should be centered are things like hate speeches.
