Michael, so if only 10~20 are killed each year due to video games, such a small number as to be of no consequence, would you mind if they started with your family first?

Would video games be the reason that you can't follow the most basic of steps posted on this site?
Are you so used to just jumping into a group game that a proper introduction in the introductions area AS REQUIRED ON THIS BOARD is just not necessary for you because you deem yourself as "special"?
Are the 16 years of video games you have played responsible for you quoting a source improperly here and creating a post that is very confusing?
You claim to be the expert so tell us all about it...

Re: Fallout 3: Another Satanic, Violent game from "Oblivion" crea
i'd like to point out some cold hard FACT and share some actual experience
FACT over 3 billion video games (on all consoles) are sold each year!
FACT there are 10-20 CONFIRMED cases of people who have commited a crime due to the influence of a video game.
that to me shows that there is an very extreme minority that already have violent tendencys and could or have been influenced by games.
i once knew someone who was a heroine addict (i have never even seen the stuff myself). do you know how he managed to come off it? he stayed in day in day out with withdrawal symptoms, playing a playstation...... is that really evil? The playstation console he was playing effectivley saved his life.
i myself have played video games since i was 7 (i am now 23 nearly) i have enjoyed every minute of it. i have not been in one fight. i am quite the reserved type, generally keep my thoughts to myself and am curtious to all of man and the animal kingdom (i am a bit scared of spiders though) and i am hardly ever angry. i have never thought about killing anyone or anything.
now i quote:

You know what they all have in common? They are all decent white Christian folks. None of them are looking for trouble, they are all trustworthy individuals.
There's nothing dangerous about a gun store. Guns don't inspire people to go on murderous rampages. Video games do. If you want to feel scared, take a stroll through your local computer store, and look at all the diabolical, satanic games that are being marketed towards our children!
Which makes YOU feel more frightened? The fact that there are millions of trustworthy white gun owners who enjoy hunting and occasionally showing off with guns (which is wrong because it is prideful), or the fact that any kid can walk into Wal-Mart and buy any murder simulator he wants, that will teach him how to kill indiscriminately, use drugs, hire prostitutes and disrespect authority?
What kind of twisted mind enjoys sitting in front of a screen shooting at cartoon characters when he could be out in nature gunning down rabbits, dear, raccoons, and other types of pests?
if you honestly think its fun to go out and shoot animals for pleasure then your the sick one.
how would you like it if all the animals gained a bit of IQ and came and shot you for fun?
buisness wouldnt be good would it?
i'd like to pay with acorns please!
we dont take acorns here...
well you do now!

In a video-game you press a button and a CHARACTER dies. It is as simple as that. And believe it or not, todays games are not realistic enough to cause normal persons to kill anyone in real life.
The fact that you are using "small step" makes your whole statement absurd.
Persons with mental instability might take get the wrong picture from games. But that can be any game, even the game "Pong". But to blame the game for another persons action is wrong. It might be a trigger for his actions, but anything can trigger a mental unstable person, for example a movie, tv-show. The list is long.
Back to your "small step" now. From pressing one button on your keyboard while playing a game, to actually have the courage(yes it takes courage to ends another persons life), to be able to lock out all the consequences of your action, pull the trigger/cut another persons throat however you choose to end another persons life is not as easy as you assume. My vision of your "small step" is bigger than that.
A mental stable, normal person, would not be able to do this because of a video-game. But all your Christians seems like weirdos. Every single one of you should stay away from video-games and stay inside your primitive bubble called life. It is 2010 now by the way.
