Also, don't forget that around this time, they were just enjoying the success of their first successful album. I think its only natural they go a little crazy.

Effeminate is a very ambiguous term. It depends on what society defines as effeminate and what is not. If society long ago had deemed trousers as effeminate, you'd be wearing a skirt right now.


Green Day doesn't care about the norm of society. Anyone who wants to truly express themselves shouldn't. Unless it runs parallel to the norm of society anyways of course.
