That also means that if you've ever handled a firearm without a license, done illicit drugs or drove under the influence of intoxicants, your ass is the devil's play thing).

But out of my 20 years of Christian upbringing, I've only ever seen God as a maybe. It's all too much for me, I'm sorry. Agnosticism isn't a crime.

Anyway. As for what I said earlier. Technology is heavily implemented in the church today; this goes without saying. The passing off of one form of technology as a sin without any credible proof, or for that matter, even having played the game, surely you sin through PRESUMPTION (And yes, that counts. See the Sin of Pride, and 'presumption' will shoot right up).

While on the subject of presumption, the Vatican (IE; God-Loving HQ), in one of its many, many catechisms, has this to say about presuming one has earned the right in to Heaven ,

"There are two kinds of presumption. Either man presumes upon his own capacities, (hoping to be able to save himself without help from on high), or he presumes upon God’s almighty power or his mercy (hoping to obtain his forgiveness without conversion and glory without merit.” Pg. 507, #2092

Anywho. What next? Oh yes, I said something about extortion. Did you know, when that little basket comes around the church and you all chuck in a few of your hard-earned dollars, only about 5 - 20% of that money goes to charity? Need some proof? Alrighty then folks. A case study on St. Alberns Cathedral, Hertfordshire, UK, found that out of the ~844,000 pounds (at the time this would have been exactly $1,382,678.35 American), only 5.5% was donated to charity. The rest went to Heat and Lighting, etc (£31 000), Abbey life + worship(the priests) (£376 000), Building Upkeep (£339 000), and "Other (+debts)" (£52 000). Donations racked up a total of £46 000. That's a grand total of $75,359.20 American. Out of the over one MILLION dollars donated. And that is one church in England. Don't even get me started on the US, or even my home country, Australia. I just don't want to think about it.

Anyway. That's about it from me for tonight. Don't hate me too much. I'm pretty sure God is okay with someone laying down some cold, hard facts; no matter how much people don't want to hear it.

I cannot say how Brother Cranky will feel about any of that stuff. I was only referring to what I thought was a humorous image of a cat wearing a small tie. Once I realized that the cat's intention was to insult Brother Cranky by, in less Christian terms, asking him to leave the vicinity, I no longer found it humorous.

Uggh...fine. You want to know how the church feels about technology? In general. The church? As in all Christian churches (in general), since you seem to believe that Baptists are no different than Catholics. Fine here we go. I will give you the beer analogy (since you are Australian) for what the church thinks about technology.

Which beers are considered to be some of the most sought after and best beers in the world? The Trappist beers, the ones brewed by monks in Belgium and Holland. Why? Because they have hundreds of years of brewing experience behind them - this has included each and every major advancement in the brewing practice and brewing equipment that has come down through Europe over the years. Why? Because the church has always been a center for the advancement of knowledge. Many people say, "Hey, what are these monks doing with all this crazy modern brewing equipment! I thought they were monks! I thought they'd be hand pumping the water and turning the malted grain with rakes."

That is ridiculous. God doesn't want anyone to be stupid. Even the Amish (anabaptists, if you are wondering) know how to take a taxi and use their neighbor's telephone - and they are the ones it sounds like you need to lay into regarding abstaining from modern technology.
