Bunch of Richard Dawkins Quotes (Was 'Pro-Jesus?')

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.

Why do people insist on praising this fictional character? It bewilders me. Fools of the earth, fools.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Religion is something left over from the infancy of our intelligence; it will fade away as we adopt reason and science as our guidelines.

      Friend,

Just consider for a moment if The Bible is right; would you want the God just described on your side, or against you?

      Think about it friend.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Finally, someone who's read his Bible! Too bad it was Richard Dawkins who did the reading.

If you wish to quote Richard Dawkins, feel free. However, please credit your source instead of plagiarizing.

Wow, a visit from Bertrand Russell! What an honor!

Gee, BAA (hmm, your initials sound like a sheep. Coincidence?), you seem unable to say anything original.

We know how Google works, too. See, we're not the technophobic hicks you clearly take us for.

How about a little Katherine Hepburn?
I'm an atheist, and that's it. I believe there's nothing we can know except that we should be kind to each other and do what we can for other people.

                  Maybe a little Bill Hicks?

Then I guess Dawkins plagiarized it and put it on his own website as one of his own quotes.

God's Holy and just nature causes him to be all these things. If you want to blame this on somebody, you should blame two peoples - Satan for tempting Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, and Eve herself for being so blatantly ignant. I'm also curious if he actually had "ROFL" in that original quote. If so, that helps further explain the youthful smiting of cancer.

Banishment from Eden AKA "the great fall"? Representing all man? So only Adam and Eve (and their family) were banned from Eden? Oooh! How about I organise my summer holiday to Eden! How exciting! Sure.. Jesus was a jew. Instead of God/Son of God, right. He was just another jew.
That's also the reason why He created a new religion; Christianity.. Because He was a jew.

I was under the impression Adam and Eve represented man kind.

Adam and Eve are very literal, and they are the ancestors of all mankind.

No, Jesus is God. He doesn't have to worship God, being God.
I was under the impression Adam and Eve represented man kind. Although I'm sure you'd do exactly the same thing if you were in Eve's position. Adam and Eve and their descendents were banished from Eden. Since you are descended from Adam and Eve (being human and all, or at least I assume you are!), you are likewise banished.

                              Nice try.

                              Well said, Lateefah!

Yes, God, being omniscient, knew that the humans He created would sin and eat that apple before He created them! He knew that this act would introduce sin into the world, yet He put that tree in the garden and created the serpent anyway!

                              Why did He do this?

Well, He had created Hell to punish sinners. Imagine, all that fuel being expended to keep an unquenchable lake of fire burning, with no sinners!

Of course, it couldn't work unless Adam and Eve were, as Lateefah delightfully puts it, "ignant". So, God didn't let them know the difference between good and evil, or right and wrong. That means they didn't know that it was wrong to disobey God until AFTER they ate of the tree!

Pretty clever, huh? But Ignorance of the Law is no excuse!

And you insult God, BAA? How can you consider God to be silly when He was so clever?
