Sometimes, you just have to admit it, the Catlicks know how to run a tight ship.
A Bapist Mayor friend way up in Moorhead, Minnesota, called me to share a laugh about a teacher there who figured she could get away with having sinful thoughts. I'm still laughing about how any teacher could think she could get away with having private views like this.
The teacher had spent eleven years teaching ten year old students and, somehow, got the idea it was alright to have positive thoughts about homer marriage if she did not share them with either her students and their parents.
They caught her when she filled out her "self-evaluation form". When asked if she had anything to say about the Church's teaching, she wrote she had reservations about its opposition to homer marriage. Then she tried to cover it up by saying she never mentioned this to students or parents.
The local Monsignor fired her ass. Good for him. It inspired me to dig deeper into the private thoughts of our teachers in Freehold Public Schools. No homer-loving-thoughts allowed.
