Our Divinely hand-picked Administration has outfoxed them by finding people who, while they may have their minor quirks, have at least not adopted the hobby of homerism.

Military Waivers for Ex-Convicts Increase

The Army admitted about one-fourth more recruits last year with a record of legal problems ranging from felony convictions and serious misdemeanors to drug crimes and traffic offenses, as pressure to increase the size of U.S. ground forces led the military to grant more waivers for criminal conduct, according to new data released yesterday.

In particular, the Army accepted more than double the number of applicants with convictions for felony crimes such as burglary, grand larceny and aggravated assault, rising from 249 to 511, while the corresponding number for the Marines increased by two-thirds, from 208 to 350. The vast majority of such convictions stem from juvenile offenses. Most involved theft, but a handful involved sexual assault and terrorist threats, and there were three cases of involuntary manslaughter.

Such an excellent strategy. I'd much rather convicts be trained with and handle dangerous weapons in a stressful situation than to put homosexuals in the military.

Why wouldn't we want ex-felons in the military? Their unique life experiences give them a leg-up on their fellow soldiers. For example, a person who was convicted of burglary will be good at foraging for supplies in the right situation. A person convicted of aggravated battery will just be that much more adapted to hand-to-hand combat. A person who has killed someone is already a good soldier, their killer instincts just aren't directed towards the right people.

I'd rather have these "criminals" recruited rather than homers. Our soldiers need to be watching their backs because of the enemy, not because there are pillow-biters in their ranks.

Very good point brother Bathfire, very good indeed. Perhaps there would be a use for queers on the battlefield. They might could be utilized for target practice for the real men as well. Perhaps just put them in pink jumpsuits or something similar to preclude them getting in among the straight men in their foxholes at night and causing mischief...
