  • Sorry Sinners, We're Not "All In This Together."

It's everywhere, the phrase, "We're all in this together." There is even a high school musical with those lyrics.

But, if sinners think we at Landover Baptist have some benefit to share with homers, mixed marriages and atheists forget about it. We see our job as giving warnings, not leaving chicken casseroles on doorsteps. The best way to deal with sin is to admit it. I don't see any of that.

We really need to stop saying "We're all in this together" until sinners join us here at Landover Baptist living sin-free lives.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Right you are Mayor! Once again, you are right on top of timely topics.
I've not heard of a single person get even the sniffles in Landover. How can we see the beaming smiles of those Blessed by Jesus if covered in a sanitary napkin? God protects those He loves.

For those of you that actually read the Bible, I am sure you all recall the stories of plagues of locust or disease wiping out entire cultures. Bad luck? Unfortunate circumstance? No, it was Gods Impeccable Will(tm) cleansing His Earth of bad people that refuse to accept His Divinity. Remember, you cannot hide from Him.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Chicken casseroles may prevent a man from being hungry for a day, but does nothing for his soul. I have left Bibles sprayed with Draino on the doorsteps of over 1,000 strangers in the small towns around here. I think there is little more I can do. If they will not hear the Word, there is no hope for them.
