    Hello everyone,

First of all, I'd like to apologize, I registered in this forum to praise your counter arguments about evoluti**ism and then referred one thing that has always reminded me of my love for God that is my soccer team. Sorry to Zechariah Smyth who adverted me I was wrong.

I'm from Portugal and I love Jesus. I hope I can learn from you all.

    Well Hello, Mr. Man,

I appreciate that you love Jesus. So do I. He's sweet and loving for His followers and defends us with incredible force against His and our enemies.

    ...but...

"...my love for God that is my soccer team..."

I hope this is a question of not knowing the American language perfectly. Your sentence indicates that the God you love is a soccer team (a devilish sport for homosexuals). Please tell us it ain't so?!

    ...because...

    Leviticus 19:4
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

    Yours in Christ,

    Elmer

I'm sure it is just a typo, they are not blessed to speak English as their first language. Still though, please reject soccer which is not a godly sport and use that time to read the KJV Bible and praise the Lord!

Soccer always bothers me. Particularly Portuguese soccer. Where they have that limp-wristed gaysexural Ronaldo. Here he is about to engage in filthy sex with another player. Have they no shame?

            Dear Bean-Chomper;

I assume that you realize that God hates Portugal, and all of it's tiny islands. No True Christian™ likes a greasy, garlic-eating, stinking wetback trying to steal America jobs and praying to statues of Mary instead of Jesus. So it's up to you to prove yourself to us on this godly forum.

You can start by speaking American, which is God's favorite language.

If you'd like to find out more about Landover Baptist Church, please read THIS thread created especially for new posters.

If you have a question, use the "search" function before posting it. Most likely it is being discussed somewhere on this Godly forum. Please don't waste God's precious bandwidth.

You will keep a respectful tongue in your head whenever addressing your betters, which includes all True Christians™. Failure to do so, or any attempt at inciting debate or mockery of God's Divine Plan, can and will result in the suspension of your posting privileges.

The Bible says, don't add anything to the word and don't remove anything from it. Claiming that soccer is "ungodly" would qualify as the former. It's not soccer's fault that Ronaldo plays it. I believe this logical fallacy is called guilt by association. As it says in Revelation, the patience of the saints is 1) keeping the commandments of God and 2) faith in Jesus. Making the commandments of men doesn't qualify you for the resurrection of the saints

Where's the Scripture to back it up? Here, we try to back up our assertions with Biblical support. Otherwise, it's just our fluffy, puny brains. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 Luckily, those of us who have been saved will go to heaven. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Re: A fellow follower from Portugal

Don't you worry. I condemn those soccer players and the money they receive, it's blasphemy!

I registered in this forum because I though this was the place to express my love for God and for Jesus. I wasn't expecting to be welcomed right away but I was sure you'd be able to judge me in a better way.

If you feel ashamed about the typical portuguese man, who is lazy, resentful and thinks everything is his to take, you can rest assure that I feel double the shame you feel about us.

Isaiah 61:7 For your shame you shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be to them.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression I was comparing in any way God to soccer, a sport that glorifies homosexual behavior, no way!

As I said, I'm here to talk about my faith with you and to show that there is still a glimpse of hope for this devilish country I have to call home.

Re: A fellow follower from Portugal

                            Hello all,

There is a particular passage that truly speaks to me:

Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

This has always motivated me to believe in my faith, to ignore the unbelievers and to follow the Lord's word.

Here in Portugal there aren't really many churches that teach the true meaning of the bible. I go to a small church in my town, which is called Soalheira. The preacher usually doesn't get to really important passages but it is a good and sacred place for my prayers.

I forgot to tell you my name, I'm Carlos Henriques. I am married to my wife Maria Henriques and we live in a farm. I work as a policeman while Maria stays in with the children (we home school them, the public teaching system here excluded bible study from the curriculum a few years ago...).

In my spare time, and through the power of prayer, I was able to get guidance to transform my farm from a landfill into a real farm, we have production of olives, different fruits and some cattle of cows and sheeps.

I'm still a little lost here in Portugal because the normal churches don't really talk about the issues I'd like to address about the bible and thank God, I was able to find this forum where I found a lot of answers for my questions.

Hope you are doing well today and I hope I can be a great addition to this forum.
