The question most likely would come from a verse in the Bible. After all, that is what the people on this site believe. This comes from their Bible:

Numbers 23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
Numbers 24:8, God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

Also Deuteronomy 33:17, Job 39:9,10, Psalms 22:21, 29:6 and 92:10 and Isaiah 34:7 Might give a clue to the why of the question.

unicorns were first used in European mythology hundreds of years after the bible was written.

You don't know when the Bible was written and you don't know what it says, yet you come in here and infer that we are the ignorant ones. How typical.

When was the Bible written? It was written in the beginning.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

When (and how) did God share His Word with humans? That doesn't matter. It is the Word of God, it is perfect, it is complete, and we are to obey it.
