    Who can identify this member for me?

    Hello all,

    I was digging through my image archive to clear out my history, when I came across this old photo that was sent to me by an acquaintance I met at an AA meeting I used to attend during my old life, before I was born again through Jesus Christ. After being indoctrinated through the 12-step ritual, at the very end as I was packing up to leave when an older man came up to me and asked me my name. I could tell there was something special about him because he was wearing a nifty trench-coat and he was not among the other drunks attending the group circle. Inside his coat the linings were filled with various paraphernalia all related to Jesus Christ and the Good News; chick-tracts, Repent pamplets, tithing cards, you name it! He asked me to reach into his coat and reach for the first thing that popped in my mind, to start making a love offering to Christ, and be born in his blood. (Luke 22:20)

    He told me that the 12-step program was nothing, and that the real battle was between those who follow Christ vs. Satan and those tempted by him. It was him who told me to start my new life at Landover Baptist Church; the One TRUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH!

    Leaving me with this ultimatum, he suddenly vanished and I never saw this man again. All those I've asked have no idea who he is. The only evidence that he even existed was this photo taken by one of other delinquents at the AA meeting, who somehow obtained my email and sent it to me.

    Below you can see me on the right (I know, it's kind of grainy) and the mysterious man who I'm asking about is on the left, taken from behind. Perhaps he's changed his appearance since this photo, as it it is from 2013.

    -Bless all,
    Jimmy

    Re: Who can identify this member for me?

    When great men, chosen by God, are approached by a powerful stranger, it often happens that the stranger is Melchizedek.

    Melchiazedek first appears in Genesis, then Psalms, (See below). However, the NT the in Hebrews 5 and 6 identifies Melchizedek as Yahweh and shows that Jesus is otherwise a High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek.

    Ge:14:17: And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his [Abram’s] return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale.
    Ge:14:18: And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
    Ge:14:19: And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
    Ge:14:20: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

    Psalms:110:3: Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
    Psalms:110:4: The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

    Heb:5:1: For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
    Heb:5:5: So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
    Heb:5:6: As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
    Heb:5:7: Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
    Heb:5:8: Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
    Heb:5:9: And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
    Heb:5:10: Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

    Heb:6:17: Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
    Heb:6:18: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
    Heb:6:19: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
    Heb:6:20: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

    The meaning of the name Melchizedek is “Zedek is [My] King.” He is the incarnation of Christ.

      Hmmmm I thought it looked a tad like Rev. Jim Osborne

      A striking man with a chin like chiseled granite.
      Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
      Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
      Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
      Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
      Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
      Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

        For some reason, the image of James Lipton came to my mind.

        There are many reasons why it is unlikely that he would be your visitor, though. . . the absence of soups among the paraphenalia you mentioned. . . his association with Hollywood. . . the annoying toadying style he has when interviewing famous people. . .the general mien of creepiness oozing from him.

        Sorry. I don't even know why I brought him up.

          Brother Bathfire,

          I noticed Melchisedec/Melchizedik has two different spellings; one with a 's' like 'said' ending in 'c' like Malbec, and the other with a 'z' like 'see' ending in 'k' like that slang word for the male member that shall not be mentioned here. I wonder why that is? Coincidentally, I had considered this stranger might have been you, Mr. Bathfire! Though your beard seems to be larger than the one born on the chin of the stranger.

          ------

          Brother Hutchins,
          While I'm tickled by the thought of being visited by the The Good Reverend Jim Osbourne himself, and would commend him for an omnipresent ability to randomly show himself up at AA meetings (which is something that Melchizedek could definately do), I find it harder to believe he'd put on few pounds in a mere span of 5 years, as the man I met was somewhat on the gaunt side.

          --------

          Same reason, handmaiden, I discredit your claim the man could been the stoutly James Lipton (isn't he a joo?).

          FUN FACT: Did you know Mr. Lipton is married to the original Miss Scarlet? I'm surprised she hasn't given him an unhappy ending with the lead pipe in their spa, yet, for his joo-rich life insurance. She looks every bit the gold-digging jap.

            Jimmy, do you have any idea how lucky you are? A Melchizedek encounter is a truly rare gift, and I am sure He revealed many esoteric secrets to you.
