Re: Greetings in Jesus' Name!
Thank you for your gracious greeting! You are so right about the building blocks that are given to us by the Lord. I can see, though, why the Papists would not want Revelation to be known, what with the references to the great whore and all. I suppose it's never easy when they find the stadium floodlights are shining onto their own organization. As for the Pentecostal church that you attended, well, that sort of thing is common practice there. You were lucky that you missed anything that involved dancing with snakes! A blessed Lord's Day to you, Dear.

Re: Greetings in Jesus' Name!
Hello
Thanks for a lovely introduction. God has made Himself known through so many things and even if we can't see the building blocks themselves through what He has made His authority is plain.
Revelation is such an encouraging book, no wonder the papists tried to get it dumped. Their Babylonian cult obviously has nothing to do with God but I do like rubies. Hopefully God will allow their use as a building material in the world to come.
Amethysts are quite nice too. Sometimes they almost look like a forest scene or landscape; you can imagine the little inhabitants going about their business such as the example [ABOVE] where they've gone camping in an ice field. It's as though can see their tepees from inside an ice cave.
This one looks like a tornado done by the artist Turner. But don't worry, I don't actually see little aliens running around or communicating by telepathy. Once however I wandered into an "Assemblies of God" chapel where telepathy may have been a benefit. Someone behind me was going off like Gomez Addams but not an interpretation in sight. Well, within hearing range I should say.
I Corinthians 14:5-7 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Some people just have different values I suppose. Here we accept God's values and seek to share them with others. Welcome to the forum.

Now, now, Dear, you mustn't let things get to you so. Psalm 37:8 "Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil." I'm sure our brother meant no harm, and that this was just a simple prayer request. Now, turn those storm clouds into rays of sunshine, all the better for your heavenly garden!Originally posted by Basilissa View Post
I can read, you know.
I'll just say that while Enrique is certainly quite tan for a descendant of the Viking discoverers of America, God has blessed him with loads and loads and loads of money (Deuteronomy 28:11-12, Psalm 115:14, Proverbs 10:22), which means God loves him and approves of my marriage plans.

However, we should remember her in prayer and hope that her poor choice in menfolk will go back home before the construction of the wall is completed. Dear Brother Larry: Well, bless your big, blessed heart! I appreciate your kindly, neighborly sentiments very much. I'm pleased that I remind you of your dear great grandmother, Celestina, even though she isn't enjoying any celestial joy in her rather warm eternal home.Originally posted by BrotherLarry View PostSister White,

I have to say how much you remind me of my great grandmother Celestina. She was a devout Catholic and now burns in hell, but in looks you are her doppelganger. (That's not a dirty word, I swear)
I've known a few Pentecostal folk myself and even attended a Sunday night service a few years ago at a Calvary Free Pentecostal Church in New Jersey. Service started at 630 and by 7 people were shouting, running up and down the aisles speaking a "heavenly" language, and claiming faith healing. I left by 7:15, just in time to catch the train back to the city. I never spoke to the friend who took me there again.
May you find much valuable fellowship here among some of the kindest, sweetest people you'll ever meet. I look forward to hearing your perspective on all things spiritual, even if you are a female.

It's a good thing you left the Pentecostal service when you did. By 7.15, things are usually getting to the "ramped up" stage, and within another half hour, they would have brought out the snakes. After my father went to meet the Lord, I decided that I, too, should be on the "next 7.15" and that's when I sought out Baptist fellowship.
I admire your dedication, and being well-built and handsome is another blessing that Jesus has given to you! My, if I had my years back (I'm 84), but when I was but a young girl, I promised Jesus that if he would save me, then I would save myself for him, too. And it's been a mutual promise that will continue until I hear the trumpet and the voice of the angel calling me home. So there's no sense in trying to entice me; you'd be wasting your time with this librarian.
Thank you again, Brother Larry, and may God richly bless you and yours. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to post such a warm welcome.

Re: Greetings in Jesus' Name!
That passage always fascinates me, especially the part in bold. What kind of gold looks like transparent glass?!? How come jewelers are not making jewelry of it? I've seen yellow gold, rose gold, green(ish) gold, white gold, heck, there's even purple and blue gold (not my cup of tea, but someone must be buying it), but transparent or at least translucent gold???Originally posted by Isabella White View PostOh, yes, the gemstones in your garden will match the gemstones that form the foundation of the walls in our heavenly home! The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass."
Well, it is OK-looking:They can keep the sardius, though. Reminds me of sardines and that reminds me of RCs eating fish on Friday and that reminds me of how glad I am I'm saved and not going to hell like those ring kissers!
It's just that is quite, um, cheap. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing carnelian jewelry!

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
I do love most of these minerals, especially diamond, sapphire, emerald, carbuncle (ruby), and gold.
Topaz and beryl (I think that refers to aquamarine) are OK, too, but I could live without onyx, sardius (carnelian), and jasper (I'd rather exchange them for some other SiO2 minerals, such as amethyst and ametrine).

If your lawn is flecked with the beautiful, tiny blue flowers, it is more proof of God's love for you. Imagine the paradise he's created for you in the gardens of your heavenly mansion. You won't see those flowers on the lawns of the unrighteous. Just check the next time you pass any cathedral and you'll see -- no blue flowers for the hellbound.Originally posted by Basilissa View PostHa!
