    Greetings in Jesus' Name!

I am so happy to have found this blessed forum. My dear father was a preacher (Pentecostal) and after many years of dancing and gibberish, I left their churches and sought out Baptist fellowship. I look forward to meeting many interesting and holy members on this good site as we rally to rid the world of sin:

Rev. 8:13 "And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!"

Hello, dear, and to our forum! Revelation 8 is such a nice choice! What's not to love - the destruction of earth by fire (Rev 8:7), sea turning to blood, thus killing sea creatures and people on ships (Rev 8:8-9), star falling down to rivers and making them poisonous, thus killing land creatures and people (Rev 8:10-11), 1/3 of the Sun and Moon being smitten and 1/3 of stars turning off (Rev 8:12)! Truly, this chapter is such a great testimony of how much God loves His own creation!

      Re: Greetings in Jesus' Name!

Welcome! I had a friend who was a Pennycostal like that. Is it true they are all stinkin' drunk when they flop around the church like that? Or is it more a matter of lunacy? My friend was a bit of a lush, but she was also crazy so I never did find out.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Why, thank you kindly! I appreciate your good welcome; makes me feel right at home. You are so right, Revelation 8 is such a nice chapter, but what's not to love in the entire book? I often quote verses when the ungodly neighbor's kids look like they'd like to pick my petunias. Hellfire was made for people like that! Have a blessed day and a blessed Sunday in worship.

Thank you very much, Mary. My, what a lovely name. It's a favorite of mine, although I do admit that it reminds me of the neighbors as they head off to blaspheme the Lord at their basilica. To answer your question, yes, yes, it's true. Daddy didn't mind the antics, and he actually encouraged it. The crazier they got, then the easier it was to shake the money out of their pockets during offering time. Lunacy does play into it to a certain extent, I'm convinced. For example, I remember when Sister Mary Lou got up to give a testimony about being delivered from a peanut butter demon. Can't say I miss those day, not when I have my good Baptist friends. May God richly bless you, and thank you again.

Dear, I grow flowers, vegetables and some herbs -- both in God's good ground and also in clay pots. Proverbs 12:11 "He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding." Working in the garden reminds me of the Creation, sadly ruined by selfish pursuits. Even clearing up the rubbish brings great pleasure. Removing the weeds reminds me of the sins that other people (such as my RC hellbound neighbors) get into when they listen to the voice of the devil and how the Lord will banish them to a very hot place. Seeing the new growth of the plants reminds me of how the Lord loves us in blessed re-birth! I hope you're having a blessed day, and I hope your garden thrives, too.

Well, my outdoor garden is still pretty much in the state of a frozen tundra (not even a single crocus peeking yet), but my potted plants indoor turned into a jungle that blocks all sunlight from entering through the windows!

Ha! No dandelions in my garden, but I do admit, that in early spring I stretch the definition of a "green lawn" to include blue shades, as the lawn is spotted with occasional islands of Scilla siberica. It's pretty, and no matter what I do, I cannot contain it within the garden, it always finds its way to the lawn!

If your lawn is flecked with the beautiful, tiny blue flowers, it is more proof of God's love for you. Imagine the paradise he's created for you in the gardens of your heavenly mansion. You won't see those flowers on the lawns of the unrighteous. Just check the next time you pass any cathedral and you'll see -- no blue flowers for the hellbound.

Well, I do enjoy to think about that, actually - I do hope it will be similar to the Garden of Eden:

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

I do love most of these minerals, especially diamond, sapphire, emerald, carbuncle (ruby), and gold. Topaz and beryl (I think that refers to aquamarine) are OK, too, but I could live without onyx, sardius (carnelian), and jasper (I'd rather exchange them for some other SiO2 minerals, such as amethyst and ametrine).

Oh, yes, the gemstones in your garden will match the gemstones that form the foundation of the walls in our heavenly home! Revelation 21:19-21 "And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass." They can keep the sardius, though. Reminds me of sardines and that reminds me of RCs eating fish on Friday and that reminds me of how glad I am I'm saved and not going to hell like those ring kissers!

                            Sister White,

How rude of the menfolk not to welcome you yet, so I'll be the first to say a deep, manly WELCOME. You've probably noticed that I am an intelligent, well-built, handsome and educated certified equine gnathologist. Come the glory, I plan to care for Christ's horses for eternity. Hallelujah!

I have to say how much you remind me of my great grandmother Celestina. She was a devout Catholic and now burns in hell, but in looks you are her doppelganger. (That's not a dirty word, I swear)

I've known a few Pentecostal folk myself and even attended a Sunday night service a few years ago at a Calvary Free Pentecostal Church in New Jersey. Service started at 630 and by 7 people were shouting, running up and down the aisles speaking a "heavenly" language, and claiming faith healing. I left by 7:15, just in time to catch the train back to the city. I never spoke to the friend who took me there again.

May you find much valuable fellowship here among some of the kindest, sweetest people you'll ever meet. I look forward to hearing your perspective on all things spiritual, even if you are a female.

                            Christ's Love be Yours,

                            Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
                            Amen and Amen

That passage always fascinates me, especially the part in bold. What kind of gold looks like transparent glass?!? How come jewelers are not making jewelry of it? I've seen yellow gold, rose gold, green(ish) gold, white gold, heck, there's even purple and blue gold (not my cup of tea, but someone must be buying it), but transparent or at least translucent gold???

They can keep the sardius, though. Reminds me of sardines and that reminds me of RCs eating fish on Friday and that reminds me of how glad I am I'm saved and not going to hell like those ring kissers!
                              Well, it is OK-looking:

It's just that is quite, um, cheap. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing carnelian jewelry!
